Pretz n’ Beanz Cafe
Just the other day Ethan asked us what a pretzel is. That poor boy has never eaten a pretzel. Such poor thing. Coincidentally, our foodie friends were invited to an evening chilling session at the newly rebranded Pretz n’ Beanz CAFE at Solaris Mont Kiara. Strategically located at the corner lot, you won’t be able to miss it even if you try.
Like I mentioned earlier, it was rather easy to locate this place so we were quite early. Ayden here had no trouble getting cozy. I must say that I like their interior.
I went to the restroom and saw this bowl of orange and lemon peel. I am a sucker when it comes to all these small little details. I super love them!
Once the gang arrived, we proceeded with our orders. The pretzels here are made to order (to ensure freshness) so it takes some time before our food are served. Pretz n’ Beanz means PRETZEL and coffee BEANS. No prize for guessing what their signature items are. We just had to try them all but of course we can’t coz there are too many so we ordered their recommended ones; the ones printed in orange font in their menu.
We had some good ol’ pretzels. Then we had pretzels with filling (Yes you read that right. They have sweet and savoury fillings stuffed into their pretzel’s interior) and then guess what? We even had pretzel pizza!
Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel (RM5.90)
Basil Cheese Pretzel (RM6.90)
Sweet and savoury. The cinnamon sugar pretzel is sweet while the basil cheese pretzel is savoury. Both is equally good but if you ask me, I’d go for savoury anytime as I am not too much of a sweet tooth person.
Pretz n’ Beanz Pepperoni Beef Filled Pretzel (RM13.90)
Pretz n’ Beanz Jumbo Chicken Hot Dog Filled Pretzel (RM10.90)
For the pretzel with fillings, we had the pepperoni beef and jumbo chicken hot dog. I prefer the pepperoni beef as it is cheesy and feels very much like eating a pizza while the jumbo chicken hot dog simply reminds me of well, a hot dog but instead of the usual bun, this is interestingly wrapped in pretzel dough that is crispy on the outside yet soft and tender on the inside.
Pretz n’ Beanz Chicken Hawaiian Pretzel Pizza (Large – RM20.90)
Pretzel dough topped with pizza sauce, chicken ham, pineapple cube and mozzarella cheese.
Pretz n’ Beanz Hot Pepper Chilli Chicken Pretzel Pizza (Large – RM20.90)
Pretz n’ Beanz Al-Funghi Pretzel Pizza (Large – RM21.90)
Pretzel dough topped with pizza sauce, sauteed mushroom, capsicum, tomato, black olive and mozzarella cheese.
An interesting mix of pretzel and pizza; soft and fluffy with a crisp crust.
Ayden kept grabbing for more.
Darling and I having some ‘paktor’ moment with our pretzel :P
Their pretzel here is unlike other pretzels. They are oven baked and not oily. They are crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside.
Besides their pretzels, we also had aglio olio and mac n cheese.
Aglio Olio Spaghetti with Prawn (RM24.90)
Macaroni & Cheese (RM12.90)
Thick Toast with Cookie Ice Cream (RM13.90)
We ended our dinner with cookie ice cream on thick toast.
It was late and I was about to make a move when we were told that there was another dessert for us, the Volcano Chocolate Cake with Ice Cream so I waited. Several minutes later, we were served this:
We got two of them and they were both in such a mess. I guessed the volcano erupted before it reached our table. I was quite surprised that they even let this through. After what seemed to be quite a nice dinner, this came as a disappointment.
What about coffee you ask? Well, I am for one is not a coffee drinker so I was just there that evening to enjoy their pretzels though they do boast of having great coffee. As for drinks, we ordered ice blended mocha for me, vanilla milkshake for Ethan and ‘keep fit’ healthy juice that consists of apple, carrot, celery and cucumber for Darling.
Eyewwwwwwww!!!! The Pretz n’ Beanz Jumbo Chicken Hot Dog Filled Pretzel!!! You like? Muahahahahaha!!!!
I prefer the Beef Pepperoni lah. And yes I know what you meant :P
Pretzels pizza? That sounds wonderful!
If you like soft crust pizza then you’ll like this.
Um…Ayden first pic so CUTE!! Eh Merryn, you guys didn’t try their breakfast. It was horrible.
What did you have for breakfast there Sycookies?
I like the pretzels and the pizzas though these likely contains high calories..hahaha… bring me there when I come KL ok ?
I am curious how Pretzel dough differs from Thick Pizza crust. Will find a day to go there to try.
Ayden looks so cute in the top photo.
Hi Mun,
I think it isn’t very much different from thick crust pizza.
Ethan wants to know what a pretzel is? Ask him to roll down his underwear and there it goes! the shape is there, then can ask mommy to deep fry that thing and sprinkle on some flavoring :)
Ken .. >_<
If Jan see this post, she will sure nag me to bring her buy pretzels right away! She simply love this snack.
Lovely dinner, food looked good. Pak toh? I thought only you and hubby but with the boys it is more like a family affair. Haha.
I had a babysitter in the group so yeah, it’s half paktor time for us. LoL.
Hubby always fan of Antie Anne’s pretzel, time to give this a try!
The pretzels here are unlike Auntie Anne’s though. They are not of the crunchy type but yes, better to bring Kenny over to try it out himself :)
