Romantic vacation at Philea Resort and Spa, Melaka
I remember back in 2011, Darling, Ethan and I spent an unforgettable weekend at Philea Resort & Spa, Ayer Keroh Melaka. Back then we stayed in their Pavilion Room. You can read all about it here. Last weekend, we went back there again to have an early birthday celebration but I shall blog more about that later as I am more excited to share how romantic it was this time our stay in their Philea Suite.
Though we aimed for a romantic weekend, we still brought Ethan and Ayden along. I just can’t have a vacation without my two boys.
We were already at awe with this Philea Suite even before we stepped foot in it.
Hidden amidst the huge forest, with the sound of the endless flow of the waterfalls, we are already in love with this little piece of paradise.
Gasp! I saw this on the table in our porch. Don’t you love it knowing they went the extra mile to make you feel special? A little personal touch goes a long way!
I was busy taking pictures of that little red heart with my name on it when Darling opened the door and entered with Ethan and Ayden. Suddenly I heard Ethan exclaiming, “Wow Mommy! Look at this! So beautiful!” I quickly take a look and beautiful is an understatement here. Our suite is amazingly wonderful! Spacious and elegantly furnished with comfortable settee.
A pair of lovely swans await us with flower petals decorating our bed. It will be such a heartache to see those swans falling out of shape so Darling removed them carefully onto the table. I was so tempted to bring those swans back home but decided against it upon check-out as that means stealing their towel! LoL!
So everything looks very romantic up to this point right? We’ve already decided that Ethan shall sleep on the settee while Darling and I will enjoy the spacious king sized bed ^_^ But what about little Ayden? To our surprise, they even prepared a playpen with pillows for Ayden!
There, can you see the playpen? That’s where the little one will be sleeping. Who says you can’t go on a romantic getaway with your little kids? All it takes is some extra planning and effort.
Let’s take a look at the rest of our suite features.
The work area that we did not even touch. We are here for a holiday not work so there is this unwritten rule that no lappie is allowed!
Ethan’s best friend, the TV.
Coffee and tea making facilities.
Complimentary mini-bar offerings that is refilled daily.
Safety box, ironing facilities and slippers that we wore out of our suite around the resort. It’s not compulsory to wear those slippers in case you are wondering.
Like as if all those don’t impress us enough, the bathroom made me speechless!
Huge mirror and beautiful classic shell-like sink.
The bathroom is so spacious we can tango in it! I can’t wait to relax in the stand-up bathtub (with Darling, wink wink) while enjoying our favourite tv programs. Yes, you read it right. There is a TV in the bathroom!
Flower petals in the tub. All together now, aww…..
The telephone-like shower head is too cute!
But before Darling and I can ‘officiate’ the tub filled with lovely flower petals, this little fella beat us to it.
Ayden at 98 days old, swimming, for the very first time here in the tub! It is super cute to see him wiggling in there. You can read all about it and watch the videos of him swimming here.
The lodging part has certainly impressed us but it was our fairy-tale dinner that I’m excited to share today. Lunch and evening activities shall be told in a different post :D
A romantic candle-lit dinner, we were told, will be served in the privacy of our own suite. I had no idea what to expect and just went along with the flow.
My drink during pre-dinner cocktail by the pool.
Finger food during the pre-dinner cocktail. Ethan and Ayden were wide awake during the pre-dinner cocktail but went to bed just as we returned to our suite for dinner. Together, Darling and I, with the kids fast asleep, anticipated what to be a romantic candle-lit dinner that we had not had for a very long time.
We don’t need to lift a foot as we have personal butlers serving us right at our porch. Our dinner comes with accompanying music too!
Our personal butler. He must be thinking, “this couple damn irritating. Got romantic dinner but ended up the wife kept taking pictures of everything!” A blogger’s habit die hard. LoL!
I don’t know the name of our appetizer but I do know that it is prawn :D
Dinner is chicken for Darling and fish for me. First look I thought that the portion is a little too small for us, would appreciate if it could be a big bigger since the fish is so delicious. Flaky yet moist, just the way I like it. But by the time dessert came and try as I might, I just can’t finish everything. Dessert was extremely filling.Â
Darling and I enjoying our candle-lit dinner under the moonlight <3
Dessert was so filling that we shared mine and brought Darling’s in to be eaten on the bed later *wink*
What happens after that is totally not suitable to be shared on blog! LoLoL!
Anyway, if you want to rekindle your romance and keep that flame burning, this is the package we had:
We created priceless memories here. Maybe next time we’ll return to plant a tree…
Awww….isn’t it lovely…I mean your baby. :D
Been there a few times and yeah…the place is really cosy. :D Very different.
Beautiful and romantic. Indeed once a while we need to get away for a romantic getaway with hubby. To keep the flame burning. ;)
The place looks so so nice! At first glance I thought the chicken was oyster hahahahaha. Looks like a nice place to berromantik lo. X)
We would like to go back again some time…Perfect for a weekend getaway.

I super love the antique looking bath tub tap!
This time Ethan can jump on the big bed as much as he can, since his little brother can have his sweet time in the playpen.. :)
