Thistle Port Dickson
We went to Port Dickson again last weekend. This time to celebrate Ethan’s birthday. With Ayden still young, turning 11 month old this month end, we do not even bother to travel anywhere far as it will be very tiring for US as well as Ayden himself. Therefore when Darling told Ethan that he can pick a place to go for his birthday, Darling also reminded him that he is only allowed to choose a place not too far away. After much thought, his choice of destination is Thistle Hotel Port Dickson.
Our Deluxe Sea View with a very nice view.Â
As usual, the first thing we do is to join the twin beds into one.Â
The basic must haves – tea and coffee making facilities.Â
Decent TV.
Large mirror, I LIKE! Look who’s loving it too! LoL!
Though the room is just okay, their bathroom is amazing!
Spacious and so beautiful. The floor tiles are even nicer than the ones in the room! >_<
Our room comes with a bath tub.
The gorgeous view from the balcony of our room where we managed to catch the sunset later in the evening.Â
Beautiful sunset view from our room.
Thistle Port Dickson also boast of their private beach. One of the reason we chose to stay here.Â
Ayden, Darling, Ethan and IÂ <3
The stretch of the private beach at Thistle Port Dickson. I don’t have high hopes for the beaches in PD but to my surprise, the water here is clean and clear!
Surprise, surprise! We can have clean beach in PD too. It is Ayden’s first beach experience and he loves it!
Ayden loves the beach so much that he ended up soaking wet after the first few dips.
In the afternoon when the sun is directly above our head, we took shelter here, relaxing while Ayden eats his porridge.Â
Did I tell you? I actually brought along my cute little rice cooker so I can still boil porridge for Ayden. Our stay is inclusive of breakfast and dinner for all of us so that we don’t need to drive out looking for food but for Ayden, I want to be sure he eats well so I prefer to still prepare his food myself.Â
Ayden’s porridge and our snacks by the beach.Â
It was also Ayden’s first dip in a public swimming pool. Ethan is playing water peek-a-boo with him here :)Â
I took Ayden out of the pool to nurse him by the poolside while Ethan remained in the pool with Darling. Ayden slept here a bit until Ethan is done playing. Thistle PD also provides chilled bottled drinking water by the pool for their guests and I think that is such a nice gesture.Â
There is also a giant Snake & Ladder and Checkers to play. Ethan ‘throws’ the dice using his foot as the dice is pretty hot on a sunny afternoon!
We also spent considerably a lot of time in the Lego room as Ethan loves playing with them. The Daddy is held ‘victim’ here by Ethan and his gun >_<
The kids also spent some time in the playroom. Look at Ethan. Sun burned already by now.Â
Ayden’s favourite place besides the pool and beach. He has never seen so many balls in his life!
We also spent hours and I mean HOURS in the Game room playing Wii games. Can you imagine we ended up with sore arms after our session? Yep, we spent that much time in this room. Blame it on Ethan!
Dinner was fantastic! I really enjoyed their seafood barbeque. Everything was so fresh it is unbelievable. Back in PJ we don’t usually get fresh fish so when we found out how fresh their seafood is I kept going for seconds and thirds and more! The ikan bakar itself is the bomb. Both Darling and I had 3 each while Ethan had that. I think the fish themselves is worth the money we paid already. I don’t know if they have this bbq every night but we were there on a Saturday and we love what we had. The rest of the buffet spread was awesome too. I think this is one of the best hotel meals I’ve ever come across.Â
Buffet breakfast was a bit pale in comparison to the superb dinner we had the night before but I managed to fill my tummy before another round of swimming in the pool lah. I was disappointed that they do not have tubs of yogurt and tuna for the croissant.Â
Overall we enjoyed ourselves very much. I did not bring my camera along as all I wanted to do was spend time with my boys but a blogger will ALWAYS be a blogger so I ended up using my phone to take some pictures. But come to think of it all the pictures in my blog has always been from my phone these days as I have not been using my camera for some time now.Â
Ethan is happy. Ayden is happy. I am happy and I heard Darling is happy too so that makes us all happy! A simple getaway for a whole lot of fun. We can really use a lot of these small family getaways. In fact, Darling is already planning for our next trip and I can’t wait!
Today, on Ethan’s actual birthday, we bought him a combo cake from Secret Recipe as per his request. Happy 7th Birthday Ethan. Mommy and Daddy love you lots!
Ayden is one lucky baby. Not 1 year old and he has been holidaying and staying in those beautiful hotels and resorts.
Nice birthday treat for Ethan. Happy birthday!
Ethan chose the right place. ;) after reading your review bout the hotel, make me wanna go too.
Happy Birthday Ethan!
Yeah , didn’t know port dickson still got clean beach. I think I stayed at this hotel before but it was a different name then.
Errr. .. you show your butt again >-<
It was Guaman last time. William and I stayed in Guaman too years ago before we had Ethan.
Lovely place? What is the room tariff like? Happy birthday again, Ethan.
Why the daddy suddenly camera shy now kah? Never show his face one. :D
Got leh. I blogged last night, very tired. Must have over-looked. Wait I go look for his picture and update. Hehe. Btw, the room rate after promo over (coz i believe their promo habis dy) is rm700++ with breakfast.
Happy Birthday To Ethan!
Sounds like a fantastic weekend away! The kids looked so happy, so did the mom! :) Happy birthday to Ethan!
Wah! So lucky the kids!! I agree the hotel room floor tiles take away the luxury feel.
awwww. so good!! envy ayden and ethan!
Happy B’day Ethan!!! :) Nice holiday…
Sam pestering us for a beach vacation & this place seem like really great!
Thanks for sharing & I’m showing this post to my hubby!
Happy belated birthday to Ethan! We love short getaways like this too and have brought this “habit” along with us to Shanghai hehe… I have the same feeling as you regarding uncarpeted hotel rooms. I don’t like it esp in beach resorts cos the floor tends to feel sandy and dirty.
yup, I don’t like hotels with tile floor also, I think it is can be dangerous for the kids too.
u are still very chu bi still ma
Happy belated birthday ethan! Very good choice for this place to celebrate your birthday. Ayden looks so happy.
Hi Merryn,
How much was the dinner buffet, if you didn’t purchase with the room package?
Am worried I won’t get enough ikan bakars to cover the cost… :P
But it is convenient not to have to travel out to eat :)
Thanks!
Best regards,
Sandy
