Casa del Rio Melaka
We were lucky to be invited to Casa del Rio Melaka Open House last Saturday. Darling, Ethan and I woke up really early in the morning and began our journey down south. We took the North-South Highway and exited at Ayer Keroh Toll Plaza. Drove another 15 minutes or so and here we are at the Quay Side overlooking Casa del Rio! :D
Located on Jalan Kota Laksamana, the hotel is a literal two minute walk away from the popular Jonker Walk and heritage attractions. As Melaka’s only hotel to be found directly on the river front, Casa del Rio Melaka is anticipated to make an important mark on the leisure and business travel markets when it officially opens its doors on the 6 May 2011; marking a new benchmark in design and service.
You will not miss this beautiful brawny arch to welcome you to Casa del Rio Melaka.
The moment we stepped foot at their lobby, we are warmly received by Mr. Andrew Drummond, General Manager of Casa del Rio, Melaka. Mr. Andrew proceeded to bring us to a fully guided tour around the hotel.
I was awe stricken at the sight of their infinity pool overlooking Museum Samudera and Menara Taming Sari. It was noon then and all I could think about was to jump into the pool for a refreshing dip! (>.<)
Private balcony
Each room has a private balcony overlooking either the river or the Lago.
The soothing to the eyes, mind and soul, Lago (lake in Portuguese)
I especially love this fountain in the middle of the Lago
Here we are about to enter the Suite
Nice and spacious with comfy warm hues and earth tone; it is lovely with tasteful interiors.
Nothing beats having grapes to welcome you to your ‘new home’ :D
The long bath to soak your stress away
With these cute little fellas to accompany you (^_^)
I simply love large mirrors :D
Be amazed by its distinctive Mediterranean architecture with strong Portuguese heritage influence.
Luxuriously appointed bathrooms feature a window that opens up to the room and vice versa and views beyond the balcony
One of the seven meeting rooms. The meeting rooms at Casa del Rio have been dedicated to famous ships with an association to this historic maritime city. Each meeting room will hold the documented history of its namesake ship honouring its contribution to Melaka’s proud Maritime history.
You can expect to be served this healthy, refreshing drink during your meetings as Casa del Rio is staying away from bottled water in their bid to preserve the environment and reduce the disposal of plastic waste.
The Oriental wedding set-up
The Western wedding set-up
CUTE! I likey! :D
We also got the opportunity to tour their kitchen. LoL at the kitchen staffs’ shocking expressions as I went around snapping pictures of them! Well, I guess they are not used to having bloggers scrutinise their work, YET! :P Mr. Andrew told them to smile as they are going to be FAMOUS! Hahaha..
We got to sample their signature finger food specially prepared for the tour :D
They saved the best for last as at the end of our tour, we were served their signature home-made vanilla ice-cream. Made using real vanilla pod this ice-cream is simply delightful! Shh.. don’t tell anyone but I actually went back to get another cone later! :D
Clowns to entertain the kids guests :D
Ethan, mesmerised by the talented live band!
