THE Special Birthday Cake

July is a good month as both Darling and Ethan were born in this special month. Their birthdays are exactly a week apart and it’s good because we get to ~~eat cake~~ celebrate TWICE!

Unlike previous years where I always failed to get a cake for Darling (coz I don’t drive and each time I requested for him to drive me to the bakery he’ll conveniently ignore) this year I managed to get one for him! It’s not fair that he always gets a cake for me and Ethan without fail but gets nothing in return on his birthday right?

Finally, Darling got a cake for his birthday! ^_^

Yesterday I was in the mall waiting for Ethan to finish his class. After class, Ethan and I headed straight to Secret Recipe to get a cake for Darling. We wanted something special, something that will surprise him, something out of the ordinary so we got this:
Secret Recipe cakes

12 slices of different flavoured cake combined into ONE!

There are only the 3 of us at home you see, and over the years we’ve been forced to finish the entire cake until ‘jelak’ so this time, I decided to get multiple flavors so we can indulge in varieties.

Ethan sang the customary Birthday song in 3 languages – English, Mandarin and Malay.

The part Ethan was anxiously waiting for – Gobbling up CAKE time! He took a bite of each and every flavor and surrendered after the 6th slice! LoL!

It wasn’t easy for the Secret Recipe staff to prepare the cake this way. They had a headache keeping tab which is which as Ethan was the one who pointed out to them each and every slice that HE wants.

Darling was indeed surprised to get a cake from us and even more surprised that the cake comes in THAT form but I wouldn’t encourage you to do the same. You know why? After taking a bite from each of those 12 slices yesterday, I woke up at 3am running to the loo. LoL! I guess my stomach got ‘confused’ with all those flavours and is giving ME a hard time. Now… if you’ll excuse me, I need to run to the loo AGAIN! >_<

Haha! Cute idea!

I always get jelak with the one same cake flavour, Maybe next time just limit to 4 flavours…Hmmm I will take your idea and do it soon but since its a big group of us friends…I think 12 flavours won’t hurt the group:D

Wahhhh!!!! Can’t decide what cake to have… SR, no…thank you. The one here – the cakes made in Kuching and sent over. We’ve better ones of our own.

Oh we tried this way once before. Then after blow candles the cakes like a big mess wahaha, everyone scooping and trying on every flavours.

Good idea of having 12 different types of sliced cakes as birthday cake..I for one like to try varieties of cakes..afterall one whole cake of 1kg is about the same price at Secret Recipe.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY to your big boy!! eih, i like this idea of getting different cakes to form one big one.. and i think the price is the same also, why not right?? one whole cake is too huge, and sure need to “jelak” for many days.. the probability of finishing these 12 pieces of cake is higher right?? :D

I like your multi-flavoured cake. It’s a good idea but I always buy 3 slices the max… Scared fat and scared expensive haha :p SR is available (and quite popular) in China too but rm10 per slice!
