Homeschooling the Toddler: Science Experiment – Float or Sink?
Just like big brother Ethan during his preschool years, I am homeschooling Ayden too. Besides doing art & craft and learning music, Ayden loves Science.
Today’s activity is discovering if certain objects FLOAT or SINK. I get Ayden to pick stuffs around the house and placed it in a container for the experiment. Not known to him, I added one extra stuff in there for the surprise element later.
We talked about each items and made him guess if they will float or sink. After we are done discussing, we proceeded with the experiment to see if his guess is correct. He got mostly correct except for that surprise item I added in the container.Â
He did not even want to touch it.Â
Nope, he does not want to guess it neither. Haha. Watch this video of Ayden (and Ethan) having fun discovering if an object floats or sink and also to find out what I placed in their containerÂ
Check out also our other Science experiment:
Eh, this mommy is so naughty to put in a toy spider to frighten Ayden. Just look at his face – he is crossed and annoyed so he pursed his lips.
Ayden’s smarter, eh? Did not touch the spider. He’s so cute!!!
practical is much better than just read from the book..now your kids know very well what sink and what float.
Hahaha I like your choice of background music and sound effect in the video more than anything else! :P
Hi, how r u Merryn? Great way for kids to learn Science. Fabulous!!
Good experiment with the kid!
Aiyo! Internet so slow can’t even load the video!! OK so you put a toy spider in there, based on the comments above. Lol
