Dine with White Lion @ Simba Hill Gourmet Hall, BGRC
In my previous post, I wrote about the TWO ultimate experiences we must not miss at Bukit Gambang Safari Park, which are to experience the safari park through the Drive Zone Tram or ride there ourselves on the ATV. You can refer to the post below in case you missed it earlier:
The TWO Ultimate Experiences You Must Not Miss at Bukit Gambang Safari Park
I also ended that post by saying there is another activity we must not miss while we are here and that is dining with the white lions. Dine with white lions in Malaysia is only available in Bukit Gambang Safari Park and we made sure we are able to experience it when we are here by making prior reservation before our arrival.
Simba Hill Gourmet Hall
Level 2, Simba Hill Plaza
We dined here on our first night in Bukit Gambang Resort City. The kids were still reeling with excitement from seeing wild animals upclose through the tram ride in the savannah and when we proceeded to have our dinner here, they were exhilarated!
Lions are nocturnal. When we were there at 6.30pm, they were resting. We guessed they will probably wake from their slumber and begin to get active only at dusk.
We placed our order for food and drinks and waited, hoping for the lion to wake up from slumber.
Suddenly, all the other diners cheered and when we turned to look, the lion is awake! YES!!
Everyone got pretty excited to see the lion standing.
The lion began making its round, greeting us :D
It came over to our side to have a drink of water.
When it gets dark, the other two female lionesses started to wander around too.
I like the decor in this restaurant. I heard it is all done by the former restaurant manager. He has since retired so I did not get the chance to meet him.
His beautiful artworks filled the entire place giving it a much authentic safari feel.
The menu.
We ordered fresh watermelon juice for both the boys.
While both Darling and I had the orange juice.
We started our dinner with this refreshing plate of salad. Crisp mixed green lettuce with zesty orange segments, topped with mango fruit dressing.
The boys shared this bowl of creamy mushroom soup.
Ethan’s carbonara with mushroom, chicken and parmesan cheese served with garlic bread.
We requested for the non-spicy version of their seafood aglio olio tossed with prawns for Ayden.
Darling’s fish n chips served with coleslaw and side salad.
I opted to have the White Simba special since we are dining here with the white lion :P
No, it’s not lion’s meat! It’s beef rib steak served with mashed potato and vegetables with black pepper sauce.
Made medium rare just the way I like it.
We also ordered the Hyena Favourite to share as many people are raving about it. Grilled lamb chop served with mash potato and vegetables accompanied by herb sauce.
We ended our dinner with a bowl of Banana Boat to share among the 4 of us as we are already bursting by the seams by now.
Being a place of tourist attraction, the price of the food here is surprisingly affordable.
We had a wonderful time. The kids are so preoccupied with the white lion that they sat through dinner effortlessly while enjoying their meal. This is definitely a must-do if you are planning to come to Bukit Gambang Resort City as the experience of looking at the white lion and lioness eye to eye just standing in front of us while savoring our favourite western meal is simply priceless.

I almost forgot about that Simba cartoon till you mentioned it here .. hahaha… Looks like a great place! Merry Xmas!
Lion King kept playing in my mind when I was here. Merry Christmas to you and family too, Chris :)
I would freak out if you ask me to dine here. I would worry all the time if the lion gets hungry and crash inside and really join us for a meal, where we become his meal >.< …
Luckily they did not put in a live deer for the lion and lioness to chase and tear apart to eat in front of all the diners like in some other places. That would be awful.
Definitely an unique experience not only for kids but the adults as well!
