Expectation vs Reality
Our entire Sunday was spent doing last minute shopping for the kids and Darling. As I had completed my CNY shopping way in advance, it is now their turn to shop. Shopping with two kids is darn tiring. One moment one of them will complain hungry. After eating, another will poo and then by the time I clean him up the big one will request to go to the washroom and by now the little one will need his milk. And just as we are about to continue shopping again, they’ll be hungry again >_<
So we dropped by Old Town for a light snack. By light snack I meant their Ipoh Hor Fun aka Koey Teow soup to be shared by Ethan and Ayden. I don’t usually allow Ethan to order Ice Kacang as I am not sure if the water is boiled prior to making the ice or not but today, Ethan saw the menu and kept pestering us for it because he said the picture is extremely tempting.
Ethan kept showing us the above picture. He pleaded to let him have that so we finally gave in and ordered that for him. Fifteen minutes later this came:
What the? It was already half melted and everything was in such a mess. The only saving grace was the ice-cream on top but that too tumbled as soon as I moved the bowl -.-
Ethan was still very happy though. Which kid will not I ask you? Get to eat ice kacang…Â
When Ayden saw Ethan posing like that for the Daddy, he too quickly put out his fingers and smile eventhough the daddy wasn’t paying attention to him. I promptly told the Daddy to take a picture of him too.Â
There, my little apek with his copycat signature pose.Â
Eating this ice kacang makes me so sad lah. I missed the one we had in Penang recently. I don’t know where coz it was Ken who drove us there but it was nearby some graveyard.Â
One day, I’ll make a trip back to Penang just to have these again :(
I miss the sunway pyramid old town !
LoL! Lebih lah you…
Ayden is really cute! He is at the stage of learning everything and copying his big brother! I like the SS2 stall 40 ice kacang best but it has been a long time since I ate there.
Not a fan of Old Town, expensive, not great…and VERY poor quality control between the outlets. That is why I am not into these franchise places.
The ice cream would have save the whole dessert.
If you look at the nasi lemak….lagi sedih.
The presence of graveyard enhances the flavor la kak
Tsk, you compare with Old Town, then everywhere else also have better ais kacang lah! XD
I miss the Kg. Koh Ice Kacang..
Will be feasting on them soon.. very soon.. :)
I don’t remember Kg Koh Ice Kacang anymore. I has been 2 decades since I last went back :'(
and there is always one fine-print under those beautifull designed menu which says “for illustration purpose only” sort of to set your expectation.. but then still, that photos are damn beautiful and probably they should say something like “the real thing is approximately 20% as beautiful as what you see“.. agree?? :D
so Merryn is so impressive with all those bold and italics thing in the comment?? aiyah, very easily only..
for bold: enclose your text betwen and
for italics: enclose your text betwen and
like this, B O L D and I T A L I C S and B O L D I T A L I C S
purposely put spaces in between in the example above, so that it will not automatically style and you can see how to do this, try it!! :)
ooops, tak jadi!!! it automatically converts the styling for me after putting the tags..
for bold: enclose your text between “” and “”
for bold: enclose your text between “” and “”
for example “”BOLD”” and “”ITALIC”” and “”BOLD ITALIC””
note: remove all ” and – in real case to take effect, they are put in this example to avoid being converted
ooops, tak jadi again!!!!!! let me try again~~
for bold: enclose your text between <b> and </b>
for italic: enclose your text between <i> and </i>
for example and and </i> <b><i>BOLD ITALIC</i></b>
okay jadi now!!! so ignore all the above and follow this example:-
for bold: enclose your text between <b> and </b>
for italic: enclose your text between <i> and </i>
for example <b>BOLD</b> or <i>ITALIC</i> or </i><b><i>BOLD ITALIC</i></b>
okay jadi now!!! but so geram and this must be the final attempt!!! so ignore all the above and follow this example:-
for bold: enclose your text between <b> and </b>
for italic: enclose your text between <i> and </i>
for example <b>BOLD</b> or <i>ITALIC</i> or </i><b><i>BOLD ITALIC</i></b>
okay jadi now!!! but so geram and this must be the final final final attempt!!! so ignore all the above and follow this example:-
for bold: enclose your text between <b> and </b>

Photo can be deceiving my dear “half” food blogger :P You should know the rules :P
My boys don’t like ice kacang, same like me when I was at their age, now I love it.
I have banned Old Time kind of long time already. The service is no good, may be it only happened at my place.
It is indeed a lot of different from the picture. I will feel disappointed too if I were to serve this.
