Ethan’s Graduation Concert
Last Saturday was Ethan’s Kindergarten Graduation Concert.
Though the concert only starts at 10am, we went there earlier for him to prepare and change into his robes and costumes. I sat in the auditorium listening to white music, watching the slide show while waiting for Ethan’s concert to start in an hour. Ethan was in the dressing room with his friends and teachers, preparing.. Suddenly I got teary eyed. At 6 years old, this is his very FIRST concert. I have deprived him of this the past few years as he was home-schooled. Looking at how excited he was, I can’t help but feel a little guilty. It’s like I have robbed an important part of his childhood away..
Ethan and friends in the dressing room waiting for their grand entrance to start the concert.
The kids playing the kompang for the grand entrance.
And then the moment we’ve all been waiting for – his graduation. I teared like a baby seeing him walking on stage upon being called. Finally he has graduated. He will no longer be in preschool. He’ll be going to big boy’s school next year. I can’t believe how time flies!
:’)
Every parents’ proudest moment.
He then went back into the dressing room to get changed for his performances.
Ethan and his classmates. Just look at how happy he is.
His costume. I super love the glasses with blinking lights!
They performed La Bamba on keyboard.
The kids then danced to Jennifer Lopez’s On The Floor but guess what? Our camera malfunctioned just as the Daddy was recording so we did not have any video of those performances. Thank goodness we were told later that we will be given a copy of the concert DVD taken by an official videographer. Phew!! Guess we just have to wait a little longer for the video footage then.
Ethan also bravely told a story in front of the huge crowd.
Finally the kids went up stage for a final song before calling it a day.
It was a very well executed concert. Everything went on smoothly and right on time. Looking at Ethan on stage and how the kids worked together to give their best show just overwhelms me. I taught in preschool before I gave birth to Ethan. I worked with kids, preparing them for concerts and more but nothing beats watching my own child on stage.
He is a big boy now and will be going into the next phase of his life soon. I wish him all the best. Darling and I will keep supporting him in all his future journey…

I still haven’t graduated *wipes my tears*
This Sunday will be Sam’s kindergarden’s Family Day and Sam will have her 1st dancing performance! *Excited*
It’s very true. You feel like crying seeing your own son on the stage performing those cute dance. I also cried lah Merryn when I saw my boy on the stage. Rasa macam alamak, anak Mommy dah besar rupanya!
