RWGenting YNOT Graffiti Art Finale
We were up in Genting last weekend for the YNOT Graffiti Art Finale. Resort World Genting is very kind to provide accommodation, meals and transportation for us bloggers. We did not follow their bus though and drove up ourselves as we planned to stay back late on Sunday.
We were given a room in First World Hotel and to my surprise, it is quite spacious. I stayed in First World decades ago and as I remembered, I had to ‘kiss the wall’ to move about in the room but this time, I can dance my way to and fro! I guess they’ve refurbished and that teeny weeny room that I stayed ages ago is no more? The washroom is also quite spacious. No more cramped feelings. I won’t mind staying in First World Hotel again now.Â
We feasted like VIPs during our stay in Genting. From the lavish lunch in Happy Valley Seafood Restaurant to some hardcore Tom Yam Kung dinner in the best buffet spread you can ever get in Genting at Coffee Terrace to the BEST teh tarik at Resort Cafe, we ate and ate and ate some more that more than half of my pictures taken over the weekend were of FOOD! LoL!Â
Our lunch at Happy Valley Seafood Restaurant, Genting.Â
Tom Yam Kung. Dinner at Coffee Terrace
They have a wide spread of Thai dishes in Coffee Terrace to celebrate the Water Festival aka Songkran over the weekend.Â
BEST teh tarik @ Resort Cafe during lunch on the second day
I’m not a fan of tea but this really lift me up that I just can’t have enough of it!
Okay, I think I better stop writing about the food and get back to the main reason we were up in Genting – YNOT Graffiti Finale.
The entire Genting Outdoor Theme Park has been transformed into a HUGE canvas for graffiti artists to ‘express’ themselves.Â
Ethan was introduced to the art of graffiti for the very first time that weekend. He even had some hands-on experience expressing himself through spray painting. The very first image he painted was a yellow smiley with bleeding black eyes! Well, the eye was not intentionally made to bleed :P It was his first time handling a spray can and he sprayed too much.Â
His next ‘art’ is his own name – ETHAN. He sprayed his own name without any help from me nor Darling. Not bad, not bad at all!Â
We saw many graffiti artists at work.Â
We saw those graffiti artists working on this corner until it was completed the day after. Themed CONCRETE JUNGLE, this is one awesome masterpiece!Â
Of course, there is that cute Genting mascots.Â
And also my favourite  as I grew up in that era. Yep, now you know that I’m ancient. Museum worthy…
The public were also treated to some heart stopping BMX stunts during the two day event.
We were also treated to some ultra cool popping dance moves by Elecoldxhot & Fix. I managed  to catch all THREE of their performances. I love them that much!
The different looks of Elecoldxhot & Fix:
Day 1 – Night
They started their first set dancing with LED lights on their suit!
I thought I’m so over Gangnam dance but when I see them performing it, it was done so perfectly and full of energy that Ethan was dancing in his stroller eventhough it was late at night and he was extremely tired!
Day 2 – Morning
During the first set on Day 2, they gave us some kickass KungFu fighting moves.
Day 2 – Evening
In the evening during their very last set, they looked super sleek in their suit. Even Darling was smitten! LoL!
I cried a little as I watched their final set for this event. They had the biggest crowd ever during this final set and the crowd kept cheering for them to go on and on but alas, all good things must come to an end :(
That’s the end of my coverage for the Genting YNOT Graffiti event but that’s not the end of our purpose in Genting as we still have that Songkran festival to celebrate. We wanna get WET! But that will have to wait as I need to dry my pictures first :P
Till then, go get yourself a cup of coffee and come back here in a while. Let’s get wet together! :)
So now Ethan is a vandaliser lar. :D
Hehe.. only in GENTING! :P
LOL. Dry your pictures..got wet ah in digital camera? XD
Haha! Only a photographer will have eyes sharp enough to catch that phrase. Photographer to the core you Cutebun! :)
Vandalism! LOL
Haha.. I MUST make sure Ethan doesn’t spray paint my wallpaper at home! >_<
so syok can go! but i really duno how to appreciate their artwork. =S
Henry,
You might not be able to appreciate their artwork until you try graffitying yourself, then you’ll appreciate the ‘freedom of expression’ it gives you. We were all given the freedom to express ourselves on the wall and it was FUN! Nobody to tell you what is RIGHT and what is WRONG. For that we are really thankful to RWGenting for organizing.
Not everyday we can spray paint walls! :P
That’s like Tim Burton’s Nightmare before Christmas characters…
And here I am thinking it was Ghostbusters?!
Huai Nuffnang never hosted any activities in Penang T.T
Penang bloggers must wave your hands higher in the air and prove to NN that you guys are as active as us here too! Or better, migrate to Kay El! LoL!
The tom yam gung looks heavenly with the big prawn. Graffiti is an art when done correctly and at the right place. Thumbs up Ethan :)
I think that is one of the BEST tom yam gung I’ve ever had and surprisingly, it came from a hotel!!!
They looks very smart in the suit..
Indeed! They saved the BEST for last! It was a superb performance and the crowd just went WILD! I think every girls there want to marry them that very moment! LoL!
Looks like a real fun-filled activity, a bit bummed that I had to miss this event since I’m away ): Can’t wait for the next WET post :P HAHAHA
I have not visited Gentings for over 10 years and my girls have never been there too, can u beat it? lol! Ethan looked so cool wearing that suit :)
Oh I also heard the room were bigger in First World now. How come ah?
I also dunno. It’s so much more spacious now. Maybe they break 3 rooms become 2? Haha.. Must ask them one day how come they are bigger now.
It was surely a great outing for your family, Cynthia and Breanna.
I stayed in First World Hotel Tower 2 recently, I was surprised that the room is clean and spacious.
