Milk will cause bad breath?

I realised something in Ethan with his previous growing up milk. Each time after drinking his milk, his breath kinda stinks. Checked with his paed and was told to feed him lots of water after his feed to ‘wash’ the sweetness away. Apparently milk will cause bad breath within minutes especially if the milk is too sweet. I actually Googled to see what causes bad breath and remedies to get over it and I got this – “by not eating poop, stinkbugs, gym socks, used tampons, panty liners, rotten stuff …” OMG I’m so not gonna GOOGLE for answers anymore @_@

Anyway, back to topic I’ve noticed that each time Ethan takes something too sweet, he’ll develop some kind of bad breath later unless he drinks lots of water after that. Does this happen to your child too?

For a long time until recently he has been taking only ONE particular brand of growing up milk. I was pretty much satisfied with that growing milk powder except for the bad breath and the fact that ants always gets into the milk tin, not forgetting that it was really sweet!

Finally at 4 years 5 months, I switched Ethan to Anmum Essential. I just couldn’t get over the fact that I’ve been feeding Ethan 13 teaspoons of added sugars everyday with the previous growing up milk powder. Imagine how much added sugars I’ve fed Ethan throughout all these years :(

I’m not the only one who did the switch. It seems that many Mommies out there have done it too. It’s nice to read the testimonials of mothers out there at Anmum’s FB Page. My son is taking Anmum Stage 3 now. He does have bad breath, because 1# he does not like to brush his teeth, and 2# he takes a lot of sweet things. So everything he eat or drink milk, I will make sure he drink some water. :p

We drink milk everyday and didn’t notice any bad breath. I wonder if this happens to babies or kids only. I went and smell my Quay Lo’s breath, he thought Quay Po went bonkers! heheh

I also in the mid of looking for another brand of formula millk for my boy since he will be moving a step higher when he reach 4 YO two months later. Actually thought of Anmum but just afraid that he might not like it especially when he is such a picky eater in terms of taste.

Yes.. I believe so that milk will make breath stink.. Changing to Anmum for my big boy already.. :)
