United Buddy Bears World Tour, Malaysia

We were at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur yesterday to check out their Christmas decoration but what caught my attention more is the United Buddy Bears on display during its world tour outside Pavilion. The United Buddy Bears promote living together in peace and harmony and Malaysia is the first South-East Asian country to be chosen for its tour.

I had a ‘beary’ great time walking from one painted bear to the other. These cheerful and colourful bear sculptures are helping to spread a message of peace via the United Buddy Bears world tour which began on the 8 December 2011.

Standing at 2m high with their arms lifted, the Buddy Bears are individually designed by artists from all the countries recognised by the United Nations.

Our first bear stop – Einstein.

Next is definitely our very own Malaysian Bear painted by local cartoonist Imuda.

Malaysia. Ethan loves our Malaysian Bear so much for the fact that it has an open, smiling mouth. He said this is the friendliest looking bear around! Bravo Imuda! :D

Cuba – Famed for their cigars, this is one ‘smoking’ bear!

Barbados – Love Barbados bear a lot for the Mother and Child artwork. Very maternal, so lovely…

Love Lebanon‘s Christmas Bear! The one next to it is Azerbaijan‘s bear.

United Buddy Bears

The bears will be exhibited at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur until February 15, 2012. According to the Buddy Bears official website, the sculptures stood together to represent people of different countries and cultures bearing message of tolerance. It aims to raise funds for needy children worldwide.
