Night Glow – 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta 2010
First time we attended the Night Glow was during the
1st Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta on the 22 March 2009. Back then, we had
‘special’ passes to enter the area for photography purposes. This year, due to miscalculated ‘planning’ we went there empty handed and had to settle photographing it from outside, together with the public and the crowd.
All throughout the Night Glow, the marching band from
Falun Dafa made their rounds much to my delight. You know why? Each time they were nearby, the crowd would somehow divert their attention to them, making it much easier for me to capture the Night Glow
:)
My take on the Night Glow. Imagine seeing them from up above; they’ll look like glowing light bulbs. Cool eh?

The flame that brought the balloon to life
:)
Z for
Zeppelin. There were two of them this year unlike last year where the zeppelin flew solo. However, my shot only covers one of them. The twin shot I took was blurry. Sorry..This year marked a difference in the zeppelin’s journey too. If last year the zeppelin made its appearance before the Night Glow event and flew only in the field area, this year they were bolder and flew out of the field area and above the crowds in pair. I think THIS is a much better approach as the crowds all over were able to enjoy it. Keep it up Mr. Zeppelin
:)

The beautiful fireworks display. I always like it short and NICE. Long does not necessary means nice. It’s the quality of the burst that counts and I’m glad this fireworks display is a nice one.Photographers said that the best area to view the fireworks was at the bridge. But then again, if we were at the bridge we wouldn’t be able to enjoy the Night Glow. I was glad that the fireworks display this time was nicely done. We did not need to tilt our heads too high and hurt our necks in return. I’d say, this was just nice for the crowd this time. Last year, there were no fireworks display.

We went home contented and happy
:) Looking forward to next year. This may after all be an annual event for my family
:)
Just for plan, let’s look forward to the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition in August. To be held in Putrajaya, entrace is free. Let’s all mark our calendars ok? :)
I was there too last night. At first I was at the bridge. But then last minute before the fireworks started, I re-located to under the bridge for fireworks photography. It was a strategic spot as the fireworks was just above my head near the lake. The fireworks display was awesome. I am looking forward to shooting more fireworks.

Nice lighting display. Must be loads of people there!
Wow…very interesting. Nice shots. I didn't know there is such event till I started reading your blog. I still remember the same event you blogged about last year. :)
Nice scene!
So making this an annual event? Good for you! What's wrong with your bloglist? How can it disappear just like that? So mine no updates? Aiyo! I also don't know how to help you since I'm rather lousy at such things! As it is, my own blog now having problem – cannot edit and such, so frustrating! Hope someone can help you out – pls tell me if you found the solution. I want to know what's the solution. Thanks & good luck! : )
wow, hope to catch hold of it next year!
Very nice…i wish im there too. I especially love the Darth Vader balloon! Cool!
I should have gone there instead of shopping at Sunway Pyramid and came back empty handed. Never mind there is alway a next time.
Nice! The balloons,I mean. I hate fireworks (Chinese New Year here is like the Third World War!!! The noise! The fumes!!!)…and they're not environment-friendly!
Nice photo shoots of fireworks. Great job! Must get more of our blogger friends to join in the Gatsby Event, then we can all meet up..LOL Cheers and be happy :)
Next year, got to plan for the night glow so no need to wake up so early in the morning. Look nicer at night!

Hi Merryn. I went too to the 2nd Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiest this year but on Sunday morning. Never know that the Night Glow was so nice. Little Ethan boy must be very excited and facsinated over the beautiful fireworks.

So envy you lah, you were able to see the balloons in quite a close distance. We went to the event too, but it was raining…so sad!
