Fruit Salad for Pendidikan Moral
Last week Ethan came home with a simple instruction – to select a fruit to bring to school for a project in Pendidikan Moral this week. We told him to bring apples as we always have apples at home. I’m referring to the edible ones this time :P He informed his teacher he will be bringing apples and the teacher gave him another set of instructions – to peel and cut it into cubes and soak them in salt water. OK got it!
Knowing me, you’ll know cube apples will never be just cubed apples. When Ethan told me they will be making fruit salad with these fruits, immediately I have something else in mind. I took out my apple shape cookie cutter :D
Jeng, jeng, jeng! Won’t it be cute to bring mini apples to school? ^_^Â
I peeled the apples and sliced them.Â
I get Ethan to use the cookie cutter to press onto those apple slices. Look at him:
Look at his face! That boy dislikes fruits kan? There is one thing he dislike more than eating fruits and that is touching them! But for the sake of his school project, he was forced to do this :)
The end result – a bowl of cute mini apples for his fruit salad project to be shared with his group members.
I must say I am impressed with his school. He has been requesting items to bring to school for projects quite often. I never know Chinese schools can be so interesting. Haha. I always take extra effort when it comes to tasks for projects. I try as much as possible to get Ethan to do them himself (with my guidance of course) but the downside is he takes forever to complete a task and often end up with very limited time for anything else. That’s why I make sure weekends are FREE days. No homework or anything to be done on Saturdays and Sundays. Weekends are for having FUN otherwise my anak sure gila wan…Â
He did not look happy doing it. Muahahahahaha!!!! Boys will be boys – we guys love to keep things simple, the simpler the better. :D Ummmm…what inedible apples are you talking about?
I’ve never seen anyone that dislikes touching fruits. What’s with that?
And what apples are inedible? Adam’s Apple? XD
HAHAHA! That’s hilarious, but nice. Apple shaped apples. :)
Hmm. How come my girl never bring fruits for project to school?? Some more made a fruit salad! Hahaha. Usually bring leaves for science.
I like your thougthtfulness, Merryn. I am sure everyone is surprise looking at the cubed apples.
oh, u really a dedicated mommy~
How many mini apples did Ethan have to make? Did he take an hour to do so? I do hope the children notice the apple shaped apples and not just gobbled them down without looking or else Ethan’s effort will be wasted.
