Resipi Cekodok Pisang
It was raining heavily this evening but Darling was out sending his car for service. We were hungry at home with nothing much to eat but a bunch of extremely ripe bananas. I needed to make something fast out of it for tea and the easiest is always the ever so simple Cekodok Pisang or Cucur Pisang.
Petang tadi hujan punya lah lebat. Darling tak de kat rumah. Dia keluar hantar kereta pi servis. Apa lagi, cekodok pisang lah! Cepat, murah dan best sangat-sangat.
Cekodok pisang or cucur pisang. My favourite tea snack.Â
The recipe for making cekodok pisang is extremely simple and the ingredients are really cheap. All we need are bananas, sugar, flour, butter and a pinch of salt. I am not too sure if everyone adds butter into their cekodok pisang but I do because that is actually the secret to get a crunchy outer layer but super soft and moist inside.
Bananas
Flour
Butter
Sugar
A pinch of salt
Baking soda
The measurement is agak-agak but I used 4 bananas (I added another one after that photo was taken), half a cup of flour, that much butter (as shown in pic), 2 tablespoon sugar and a pinch of salt.
3-4Â biji pisang
Tepung gandum
Mentega
Gula pasir
Secubit garam
Bikarbonat soda
In a bowl, mash bananas, butter, sugar and salt.
Add a little baking soda and flour bit by bit until the mixture is not too soft.
Masukkan bikarbonat soda dan tepung gandum sedikit demi sedikit sehingga adunan tidak terlalu lembik.Â
Mix well.
Gaul rata.
Heat oil in a wok. Scoop and drop batter slowly into the hot oil. Fry until they are golden and floating.Â
Panaskan minyak dalam kuali. Masukkan adunan pisang perlahan-lahan. Goreng sehingga keemasan dan terapung.
Place on paper towel-lined plate to absorb excess oil and serve hot.Â
Pergh! Sedap beb! Bulan puasa nanti mesti ramai yang tercari-cari nak makan cekodok pisang ni. Tak payah lah susah-susah nak beli. Senang jer nak buat ni :D

Cucur Ikan Bilis. Recipe here.
cekodok pisang is one of my favorites. never heard of anyone using butter AND you are making me hungry at this odd hour. apasal ada dual language kat post ni?
I like!!! Had it once at Cameron – maybe it was sweet potato. Maybe this would be great with cream corn too…instead of bananas. Ahhhhh!!! That’s my style of cooking too – agak agak one!
Oh. Now Merryn into dual languages here? Not bad.
I never make this myself but I love it very much. Yum yum. Great to go with tea to down those oil. ^^
Nostalgic nostalgic! This cekodok pisang is the first thing that I learned to cook in Darjah 4 Kemahiran Hidup! XD
Seem really easy & I got every ingredients at home except the banana, will definitely try this if I can get banana on my next grocery shopping :)
Definitely nice to eat on a rainy day! Did Ayden and Ethan enjoy eating them?
Tsk tsk, oily stuff. Eh why suddenly bi-lingual one? LOL
I think I had that before but it was long long ago.
Oh yeah….why bi-lingual? Should be Mandarin and England mah … hahaha
btw… is this nyonya delicacy ?
Pandai submerryn! I like cekodok pisang. Back the schooling days, this is one of the most affordable and filling food after the school bell goes off.hahah
Suka,suka. Nak buat sat lagi.
Hahahha.. best nye jumpa entry ni. Thank you sis. Bulan puasa ni kan, ad lebihan pisang. Cekodok pisang lah jawabnya.
Hi Mira,
Orang dulu dulu tak pakai bikarbonat soda. Zaman moden ni jer yg tambah bikarbonat soda :D
Yes agreed. My mom taught me to put some butter in the batter too but not the bicarbonate instead she use eno soda. I’ve tried your recipe and it’s turned out well and delicious. Will make another soon. Thank you for sharing. Bless you.
