Strangers approaching your child
Hi all! We finally went for our first family vacation together since the arrival of Ayden 10 weeks ago. We are enjoying every minute of it and though they have free wifi here, I don’t even bother to update my blog as every minute is spent with the family (though I cheat every now and then to update my FB page with some memorable holiday pictures ^_^)
However, what happened this morning is a cause for concern that I can’t help but to voice it out here and also my FB page.Â
What would you do if a total stranger suddenly comes and hug your child? This middle-aged Taiwanese lady approaches Ethan and hugs him. When she saw how startled we are, she told us that she has a grandson Ethan’s age. Darling stood guard nearby as this aunty kept coming back for more hugs @_@
We were stunned for a moment and didn’t know what to do…Â
What would you do if you were in our position?
eee… I dun like. In more polite way I think I’ll ask my kids, come it’s time for your to ease yourself or it’s water time now. Then will get away from those stranger far far and guard them in my arms.
it happened all the time to Haylie too! My mom will become paranoid somehow. hahaha!
Seriously, I don’t really like it but if to tell the aunty off, will be a bit rude. Hmm……. but just becareful and keep an eye on Ethan.
Ask Ethan to shout “fei lai” if necessary! hahahahaha
i might approach that person and smile to them and hold our own child #justsaying
errr have to teach ethan kenot let other people touchy his private part :P must scream fei lai if someone does so! :P
I don’t really like it.. I will giving them a stare (tapi my mata sepet ppl can’t really tell)!! I will quickly walked away from there if possible!
NEVER TRUST STRANGERS!!! No matter how nice they may seem. Have to teach your kids that… These days, you’ll never know.
Auntie Taiwanese must be missing her grandchild a lot… anyway, nowadays we need to be on the cautious side… see what the world is turning us into… Paranoids already… sigh..
I dun like too. Last time when C was small, strangers liked to approach her and stroke her cheek… that also I felt uneasy (and quickly wiped her cheek after that). Hugging lagi I object! Sometimes these over-friendly people give me the creeps…
I’ll carry away my daughter and cabut from there :) Personally I really dun like it. I was pissed off when my ex babysitter keep kissing my baby daughter hundreds of times in a day, and in front of me. No wonder my girl caught flu bug very easily those days.
Hmmm I’ll join him in the pool so I can lookout for him :D
So far no such experience yet but if it happens, I’ll definitely pull my boy away.
I don’t feel at ease with it too..will move away if her approach becoming too offensive.
Glad to know that you went on a family getaway!
Hmm, I will tell my child not to get close with strangers even if they come nearby, if he insisted then I’ll pull my boy away.
That is a very friendly aunt. But over-friendly and that is a concern there. Maybe she does missed the grandson but I think she should ask your permission on hugging Ethan but she has overdoing it.
It is good to stand guard and alert around your kids. I would still be courteous and same time be watchful of this stranger’s advances.
I’m a paranoid. I always remind Kenji that no one can carry him other than us and his grandparents. If this happens, I will stand guard and might told that person how i feel.
I don’t really like it when a total stranger comes or hugs or even talks to my sons. I will quickly get hold of them and politely tell the stranger that we need to go somewhere else.
