MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodle – My verdict
These days I hardly cook coz am busy with Ayden. The most that I can manage is a super simple dinner when Darling comes home from work a little early. Soo Yin kesian-ed me and sent some of the famous MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodles to me. Thank you so much dear :) I heard so much about this Penang White Curry Noodles and am super excited to finally get to try it!
MyKuali Penang White Curry Noodles.
There are 3 sachets in it: Seasoning, Non-dairy creamer and the glorious chili paste.
MyKuali’s Penang White Curry Noodles uses non-dairy creamer instead of coconut milk. It is okay for me but Darling find it a bit too jelak.
Ethan loves to see the transformation from WHITE to RED but unfortunately that boy can’t eat this as it is SPICY!
My verdict? For someone who is living in Malaysia with hot and delicious food easily available everywhere, this comes just quite okay. Love the gravy but nothing beats having curry noodles the hawker style with yellow noodles and having it this way with instant noodles doesn’t really tickle my fancy. It will however be a whole lot of different IF I am residing abroad where curry noodles is scarce. I remembered the time when Darling and I were in Japan and also Australia where we got bored of sushi and fish and chips and were longing for something hot and spicy like nasi lemak or curry noodles. THIS will definitely be handy then.
I’d say YES to this though as I can still get my curry fix on busy days but Darling says he’ll reserve this only for travelling and such.
Darling can’t stand the spiciness and almost BURST out eating this. Baju pun tak pakai dah! Lolol!
Now, the million dollar question will be – Where can we purchase this in the Klang Valley as I don’t see it being sold anywhere? Anybody?
P/S: Chicken and egg NOT included :P
You wanna buy more? KL friend sent me a pack of 4…still got one left, jelak halfway eating – maybe I’ll try the last pack, leave out the creamer…see nice or not. All in all, not my favourite – just super duper spicy, that makes it different from the rest.
i have been cooking my dinner in the afternoon! haha.
didnt cook much on Sunday when baby is not going to nanny’s house.
Never c this packing before.. hmm
Agree. 1 packet of this instant noodle is not cheap too, around Rm 1.50, might as well just add another Rm 1.50 go out “dabao” a fresh curry mee :P
Like the richness and spicyness of the soup but it is a little bland. I need to add a little salt to the soup, for me at least.
The instructions given on the packet will not be great for flavors and taste at all. The issue lies on the amount of water to use. I have done a bit of tweaking and found the verdict as below:
Brand: MyKuali – Penang White Curry Noodle
Verdict: Super good like the original – Creamy, Spicy, Fragrant
Rate: 4.5/5 (as the dried noodles was normal & not as great as expected)
Tips:
– Added ingredients such as prawns, dried tofu balls, long beans, crab sticks, fish balls, cuttlefish, mint leaves, etc will add in more flavors.
Noodles to be cooked separated and drained well.
MAXIMUM 1 cup/8 oz/237ml water (measuring cup) for the soup to get the right consistency.
Most importantly, the provided chili paste is to be added last on the noodles – whole packet is for the spicy lovers, one teaspoon will be ideal for general consumption.
Where to buy? Sky Thomas Food Industries Sdn Bhd (Factory – 18 & 20, Jalan IKS Bukit Tengah, Taman IKS Bukit Tengah, Bukit Mertajam, 14000 Penang, Malaysia.
