Painting Koi Fish
Painting is therapeutic. In the midst of our hectic schedule, how many of us still paint every once in a while? When was the last time you held a paint brush or even a color pencil?
The kids did a simple koi fish painting in the Studio today. One look at Ethan’s koi fish and many said he is VERY talented! LoL.. now, let me share with you the SIMPLE process of how those kids did that painting! You’ll think twice before saying they are REALLY talented now! Hahaha..
Ethan’s koi fish painting.
I prepared for the kids two templates each. I cut them ‘Ying and Yang’ style.
Using a sponge, the kids painted the water in the pond.
Once dry, using the first template, dab white paint over the ‘holes’. Let dry.
Place the second template over the white paint and start dabbing orange paint over it. Let dry.
Repeat the process for the next fish and tah-dah… you’ll get beautiful koi fish swimming right before your very eyes. Some of the older kids use the paint brush to paint additional streaks on the fish but I forgot to photograph it -.-
Frame it up and you’ll get soothing art work on your wall done by our very own kid! ^_^
Now I wanna go get a canvas and some oil paint so Ethan can paint NINE koi fish with ONE of them being the GOLDEN one! Feng shui master will approve of THAT! :)
Great idea… N very nice result… :)
I see…but at least, it’s all his own work. I still think he’s talented… Other kids will still mess it up, I’m sure.
Ethan boy is very talented indeed! I was quite amazed with the painting when I saw it on fb earlier! :D
It needs patience in art… i dont have but Ethan definitely has it!
