Right pet for a child?

Since we were surrounded by cats and dogs over the past few days in my hometown, Ethan has requested to have a pet of his own too. I will definitely NOT agree to having a cat nor a dog at home for I kinda dislike them. Sorry to all cats and dogs lovers out there.

I thought of getting him a turtle but…

He rather have rats!

Of course I won’t agree to getting him something that I usually call the pest control to get rid off!

Maybe this baby crocodile is a better choice?

So he has made his choice and paid for it.

He was extremely excited in the car!

Do you think he has a baby crocodile in there? :P

Nah… no crocodiles but 3 Tiger Barb fish as his Happy Family Fish Pets :D Look at those two fish K.I.S.S.I.N.G! <3

Just like me, he can sit there for hours looking at those fish :D

He can’t wait to feed them for the very first time!

And look at the fish again..

But Uncle Kimmy taught him to feed the fish using chopsticks! I was like, “What? He doesn’t know how to use chopsticks-lah!” >_<

It’s like this actually… Ehem…

HOW TO FEED YOUR PET FISH

Dip the tip of a chopstick in water

Next dip the damp chopstick in the fish food

The fish food will stick to the chopstick

And feed the fish! According to Unc Kimmy, he won’t overfeed the fish that way! Genius-nyer Unc Kimmy! :P

Darling said the square container is too small for the fish hence I relocate them into this bottle :( We will have to go shopping to hunt for a nicer fish bowl tomorrow :D

P/S: If you see me quiet in the blogging scene, that only means that I am busy with our pet fish :P

Good that u didn't buy those hamsters! They died easily and sneak out from their cage fast! Just like smurfs… U feel like stomping on them!

Btw, get a bigger aquarium …

Used to catch this Tiger Barb fishes from a pond near Ulu Yam…..good old days!

Hmm, must try ur way..so the fishes will not over-eat! Over-eat can die one! Merryn, cats and dogs are cute…but cos of hygiene and generous care…I rather pay more attention towards my kids at home…Pets at home definitely a no no no to me!

I think fish is the 'easiest' pet to keep, except for the change water part. But at least fish won't 'leave their business' anywhere! hehe :P

yalor, i think fish will be the best choice lah.. something not so active like the hamster.. or maybe if you think of something less "vulnerable" then can consider tortoise.. :p

Ethan sure loves the fishes and paying special attention to them. But still the round semi D not big enough should get a bungalow when they grow bigger in size.

Not cheap to keep fishes too.. buy aquarium, oxygen… chlorine.. etc.. hahaha… last time i have one aquarium…but it is nice to see if u put more inside… esp those colourful ones…

mmm… soon he'll be asking for more pets. Cavan started with fish then got bored. Wanted something that is running around. Since doggie is a no no for us now, he got a hamster (1st diedl, few months later he got a 2nd one). 1st hamster was fierce, current hamster tame but hard to catch. Then as he already told you he got a turtle. After our visit to the rabbit park recently, he's asking for a rabbit!! *sweat*

no pup for Ethel but we have a small turtle for..which drive me crazy cos it's making so much of noise everyday. It's trying to climb up from the small aquarium..

Oh tiger fish. This is my girl 1st pet too when she bought it her own during her 1st school field trip. Too bad my MIL accidentally KILL it when she use unfiltered water to change it. I thinking to get Chloe a pair of tortoise as it less maintenance and "long live" LOL
