Mountain water fresh tilapia at Moon Sing Restaurant
Ever felt bored eating outside and am craving for some home-cooked dishes but you are no where near home and there’s no one to actually cook you a homely meal? Then head over to Taman Perindustrian KIP to Moon Sing Restaurant.
We were informed that all the vegetables and fresh water fishes used in the restaurant are brought from Bukit Tinggi hence the mountain water fresh tilapia for RM10 banner!
Warm welcome to make us feel at home
We had nutritious ‘Tin Chat’ soup to start off our meal. Simple and delicious, we are beginning to feel at home.
Claypot Tilapia. One factor that always deterred me from having tilapia is the mud smell but amazingly this dish has no mud smell watsoever in it! Must be because of the mountain water where the fish came from! :D A must try dish!
Sweet and sour pork ribs. Succulent pork ribs that ‘melts’ in my mouth. It was that tender!
Sliced yam with pork. So I’m not really a fan of pork but still I could not help myself from having a bite of this dish. Tasty and most importantly the yam is very soft. Ethan loves it!
Mackeral fish stuffed with mackerel paste. This I likey! I was taken aback at first-glanced as I thought, eeek… so dry!
But I was proven wrong as beneath the crispy skin lies some very tender mackeral paste; moist and extremely tasty. Dipped it with the accompanying sauce, it is PERFECT!
Vege fresh from Bukit Tinggi. It couldn’t get any fresher than this!
Assam Steamed Tilapia. I was already quite stuffed when this dish came but the sight and aroma of this dish made me want to eat more. I requested for another bowl of rice and drenched it with the assam gravy. Heavenly!
Tofu Mayo Fish Pickles. I love pickles and I love tofu. Combine them together and you get this amazingly delicious, appetizing dish. The gravy is perfect to go with steamed rice too!
Butter Sotong. The curry leaves give this savory dish the extra oomph and the squid is not at all rubbery. Nice!
The fried eggplant with garlic is very aromatic. I’m a garlic person. I can never have too much garlic in my dishes so this dish goes well with me too.
Braised salted bean curd with oyster sauce. Crispy on the outsides, soft on the insides. We likey! *means approved by the little boss, Ethan!* :P
They say there is no place like home. I say I think I’ve found home. Well, at least where food is concern that is! :D

Come to think about it love the sotong, the eggplant in fact suka semua lah..muahahaha
oh so you call it Tilapia too… wwe really have so many terms in common cheers!
Food looks good. How much? Expensive? Love the way they did the mackerel – fish outside, paste inside…the sotong looks good too…but not a fan of tilapia. Lots of bones…and a lot here…live ones – from Batang Ai hydro-dam.
STP – This place is not expensive. As you can see from their banner in front of their restaurant, everything's very affordable :)Bananaz – Jom kita pergi makan makan! :)
wow, really not bad woh the dishes.. simply by looking at the photos i'm already in love with the pork ribs, braised pork with yam, butter sotong, mackarel fish and the eggplant already.. yum yum!!
There are really lots of great dishes and it looks good. In fact , I love these types of 'home' food. Will try it when i come over.
Yums yums!!
Strangely…I am not interested in any of the fishes about….however I would love to taste those sweet and sour pork ribs….of course….sliced pork with yam. :p
