Malacca Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary
One of the activities during our stay at Philea Resort and Spa, Ayer Keroh, Malacca recently was a visit to the Malacca Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary. It is situated just after the Ayer Keroh Toll Plaza from North South Expressway. We took a buggy from the resort to the Butterfly farm.
The first thing we did upon entering was to feed the monkeys bananas followed by feeding the iguanas life crickets! You’ve got to watch the video at the end of this entry to see how interesting the feeding sessions are!
We also got the opportunity to get up close and personal with a yellow python :D
I just love the feel of python!
So nice! But I wonder why everyone else ran away!
We also got to see this HUGE iguana! Nobody dared to go near it! Aiyayayaya!
Just so you know how huge it is, compare it to the motorcycle next to it! That is how BIG it is! Bigger than Ethan? @_@
There is also alligators. Look at the one closest to Ethan. Its eyes are open! Yikes! I’m scared!
Leopard. I saw a couple of leopards that look like they are pregnant!
If he doesn’t seem afraid of those leopard, he does seems afraid of these bunnies! Why-ah? Look at those two amorous bunnies kissing in front of the kids! Tsk tsk.. :D
We were delighted when we saw white peacocks! Oh my my, they are stunningly beautiful! Too bad they did not want to show off their tail to us :(
It was also our very first time seeing a real bearcat!
There were about five arapaimas in here and they are all super huge!
Ish.. I don’t like! Scary-lah wei!
Mr Crocs cooling himself? :D
Kimmy was afraid that the python might escape!!
There, the very same python! It did not escape-lah! :P
Otter! Cute!
I tell you, things we see or do here, we do not get to see or do it in Zoo Negara KL! This place is so much more awesome! Fail-lah Zoo Negara like that! If you know me well, you’ll know how much I love KL Bird Park right? But I’m disappointed that they do not have the white peacocks! They should have at least a couple! :(
Anyway, just realised I did not post any pictures of BUTTERFLIES in this post! :P
I caught Ethan feeding monkeys, iguanas, fish and more on video. Let’s watch this short movie to see what your kid can do at the Malacca Butterfly & Reptile Sanctuary. A place truly worth a visit.

wow, you are so brave! you know, we have been wanting to visit the reptile sanctuary but there is no signboard guiding us there. Only signboards to Taman Rama Rama and we didn't know that the reptile sanctuary is at the same place. How confusing :(
omg! i know u're snake oso!! LOL! i dare not to touch it for sure~!! :o
1st time see white peacock!! looks sooo beautiful la!! :D:D
hahaha Ethan scared of little animals is it?? :p
Been to the butterfly farm at Penang but not at Malacca, in fact never knew this existed until saw your post. great news for me for sure.
Ooh I once held a yellow python too! Smooth and cool skin, but rather heavy. Ayer Keroh sounds familiar – is it near the N-S Expressway where the rest-stop is a bridge which has KFC and A&W?
Anything goes for Bananaz except the python..eeeeeeee..haha
