The boys’ first time attending a rock concert
On the 1st of August, Ethan got a chance of a lifetime to perform in front of his favourite rock band Mad August during the press conference for their upcoming concert. I’ve blogged about it here.
Fast forward to 30 August, I brought the boys to attend that said concert. This is Ethan and Ayden’s first time attending a concert and they are pretty excited about it.
We got rock zone tickets; a free-standing area and the boys made sure they stand right in front for the best view.
The boys’ idol, Mad August’s drummer Kit Wong.
The girls went crazy over Jimloo, guitarist for Mad August.
Here he is with Peter, the powerful vocalist of Mad August.
Another member of Mad August is bassist Jeff who also sang a couple of songs during the concert.
Peter and the band members gave a highly energetic performance and kept their fans jumping on their feet throughout the almost 3 hours concert.
I don’t know what went through the boys’ mind during the concert but I do know that it made a big impact on them to better understand what a musician does.
Mad August is unlike the typical Chinese rock band. They are very well-versed in English and speaks English from time to time on stage. They even have a special acoustic performance of English medleys that inspires them throughout their 8 years together.
Here is the video:
Besides their unplugged performance, my favourite is the very last song they performed that evening. They kept the best for last and I am so glad we stayed through (though it was close to midnight) because every second of that performance is worth the wait.
I managed to record it so we can play it on repeat any time of the day:
The boys dream came true that evening. They get to see Mad August perform LIVE. They went home tired but extremely happy and satisfied.
The first of many to come, I’m sure. Your bous rawks!!!
wah congrats, so young already on the path to become rockstar!
So did it inspire them to want to form a band soon?
One day he’ll be the one on the stage rockin’!
Wonderful experience for the boys.
