Celebrate Mid-Autumn with Tao Chinese Cuisine’s Orient Lustre Series
It is believed that the moon is at its roundest and brightest on the 15th August of the lunar calendar. On this day, family members gather and feast together as full moon signifies reunion. Mooncakes are a must-have during this reunion, traditionally known as Mid-Autumn Festival.
This year, Tao’s Chinese Cuisine’s Master Dim Sum Chef, Chef Lo Tian Sion and his team unveil their mooncake curations themed Orient Lustre.
The Orient Lustre series blends classics with fresh modernity, featuring a range of baked mooncakes and delicately crafted snow skin mooncakes, presented in a classic elegant packaging.
Stealing the limelight this year is the chef’s signature – Almond Baked Skin, Pandan, Cream Cheese Salted Yolk and Chestnut Mooncake which is designed in a beautiful flower shape. Different than the usual flour-based baked skin mooncake, this lusciously crafted piece uses almond bulbs as its skin as a healthier option since almond is high in fibre, it prevents the blood sugar level from sudden spike.
Watch Chef Lo Tian Sion make his signature Almond Baked Skin mooncake here:Â
While the signature is innovating, those who enjoy the classic flavors can indulge in the all-time favourites such as Red Bean Paste with Nuts or the Golden Jade with Single Yolk.Â
Signature Durian Snow Skin Mooncake with Salted Caramel Chocolate is also back by popular demand. Guests can expect a burst of rich durian flavors when they bite into the pastry. With such a medley of King of the Fruit and chocolate, every bite is a pleasant contrast!
Another extravagant snow skin gem is Butterfly Pea Flower Snow Skin with Bird’s Nest. This blue precious is a must-try for those who appreciate collagens. Both of these Durian and Bird’s Nest snow skin mooncakes were crowd’s favourite in 2107 and 2018.
