All About Myself
The kindergarten Ayden goes to has thematic learning whereby they focused on one particular theme for the entire month. The theme for February is All About Myself and the first thing he learned was how a person is ‘created’.
His teacher told stories about how Daddies will eject many swimming champions that look like tadpoles yet are not really tadpoles and how they raced with all their might to reach the ‘egg’ from the Mommies. The teacher also explained how once a ‘tadpole’ got to the ‘egg’, no other tadpoles can steal it away from that champion tadpole. His teacher then went on to explain that the tadpole and the egg will grow hands, feet, head and more to form a complete human being in the mother. The mother will carry this new life in her for 9 months before delivering him/her into this world. Ayden’s teacher also explained how most babies settle into a head-down position, ready for birth but if the pregnancy is breech whereby the baby is with its feet near its bottom near delivery, the mother may need to be operated on to get the baby out or risk breaking the baby’s arms on the way out.
Ayden remembers every single detail the teacher told them. I was very impressed when he told me all about it.Â
I teased Ayden that since it was tadpoles that got to the egg, he actually has the blood of a frog in him to which he vehemently defended himself saying it looks like a tadpole but is not actually a tadpole. I asked him what is it then and he answered me, “something that comes from the father”. Hahahaha!
Anyway his teacher told them to draw what they understand about the story she told them and Ayden drew this:
He drew me carrying him almost full term as he is already in the head-down position ready for birth. Big brother Ethan and the Daddy can be seen happily completing this family portrait.Â
I love this picture very much. We look so happy and smiley in it with each of us having only 3 fingers on each hand and 3 toes on each foot :D
Ayden told me they learned about body parts yesterday. His teacher taught them how they should guard their private parts and not let anybody touch them nor can they touch other person’s private parts.Â
I used to not believe in kindergartens but seeing how Ayden flourish in this school, I am glad we found the right one for him.Â
Nice drawing weh.
Make sure you laminate this picture or frame it. So priceless. :)
His drawing exudes so much innocence and love. :) The best family portrait that even a DSLR can’t capture. :)
Lol. I didn’t know teacher start teaching such in kindergarten level.
Nice drawing. Glad he is doing fine in kindergarten.
Gee!!! They sure start early these days! Whatever happened to The Birds and The Bees? LOL!!! Luckily, he did not draw everybody naked! :D
I’m impressed and surprised. The things that often cause the most problems in the world are often those that are least talked about. Kudos to his kindy and teachers.
I thought they are angels if not reading the article :P
This kindergarten is on the right path to teach children early on about this subject.
LOLOL… Ayden is so cute and such a good son. You should frame this drawing up.
