Cook with Ethan: Homemade Popcorn
With the mid term exam done and over with and the school holidays is here, it only means it is time to have fun, FUN and MORE fun!
We officiate the two-weeks school break with popping our own popcorn. I’ve blogged about making our own popcorn some time ago but now it is time to pass the skill to the boys or rather the big brother Ethan.
Homemade Popcorn
Ingredients:
A bowl of corn kernels
A bowl of cooking oil
1/2 bowl of honey
1/3 bowl of brown sugar
Butter
Method:
1) Heat oil in wok. Add corn kernels.
2) Shake the wok to make sure corn kernels are soaked in oil.
3) Cover the wok and let the corn pop.
4) Remove the popped corn.
5) Clean the wok.
6) Melt butter, brown sugar and honey.
7) Add the popped corn back into the sugar mixture.
8) Mix well until well coated.
9) Store in airtight container.
Note:
It is important to NOT add sugar while popping corn or you’ll end up with burnt corn.Â
Always pop corns first then mix with sugar mixture later.
You may pop the corn kernels with butter but I find popping with cooking oil much easier.Â
Watch this tutorial video to get a better idea on how simple it is to pop your own corn at homeÂ

Yay! Now Ethan can make popcorn whenever he feels like eating some (as long as all the ingredients are available at home) without needing to buy them.
Never tried, not a fan…but itu corn kernel beli kat mana, fresh corn or special for pop corn one or yang dibagi ayam makan pun. LOL!!! Me so jakun, dunno these things.
Nice way to celebrate and welcome the holiday. Happy holiday, guys!!
Yeah I wanna “play” this with Sam too! So the pop corn is sweet in flavor?
