Chinese New Year Decoration: Sunway Pyramid
This is my first and may be the only Chinese New Year decorations at the mall posting this year. I am surprised that of all malls, I am posting on the CNY decor at Sunway Pyramid instead of my usual hangout at 1U or The Curve.
The reason being is because I have been a bit busy and have not been frequenting many malls this month BUT ended up at Sunway Pyramid twice due to a certain reason.
I am impressed with their CNY decor this year. The LG2 Orange Concourse is decorated up to 4-storeys high with structures of shops and a theatre that resembles the yesteryears.
If previous years you see the festive decorations on the ground floor only, this year, we see it as soon as we get down from the car park to the mall.
A huge rooster sculpture standing proud on the top floor of the retail shops with red lanterns (lots and lots of them) hung above it.
The feeling is like as if we are in Hong Kong during it’s hand over to China in 1997.
Classic multi-level retail shops equipped with Chinese signages and shadows of figurines bring this town to life.
There is even an old school theater. Oh how I missed those kuaci eating while watching movies days
Right on the ground floor, the road will lead us to another huge rooster..
There! The boys trying to act like the rooster
I’m happy this year most of the malls in the Klang Valley did a great job with their CNY decor. 1 Utama did great after their disappointing Christmas decor. The Curve is keeping it up with their classy Throne Room Wall right in the heart of The Forbidden City. Both of these malls I went before their official launch hence the pictures I have of their decor is somewhat incomplete hence I am not posting them yet unless I go there again one of these days.
Thanks for the photos because I seldom go to Sunway Pyramid. The white roosters look so cartoony funny. Ethan and Ayden are so hilarious mimicking the white rooster.
I did not go to many shopping malls this year either. The more impressive one was last week. Will blog about it soon.
Very Chinatown looking. Love the kids’ last photo too.
I just visited Sunway Pyramid last Saturday and I missed these lovely decorations! I like that kinda old Chinese shop and house facades that reminds me of old Hong Kong.
I must visit Sunway Pyramid again and sit on the same bench as your 2 boys!
The decors remind me of last year’s decor at Paradigm Mall~
Kinda simple. Times are hard, economy no good.
