Planet of the Apes
I cleared my spinach patch before going for our 4D/3N trip down south last week and as soon as I got home, I wanted to start planting them again. I looked high and low for my bottle of seeds that I kept in the car porch but could not find them. I got pretty upset as my lifelong supply of spinach, sweetcorn, brinjal and many many more other seeds are in that precious bottle of mine but it is gone.
Today, Darling alerted me that there are monkeys on the loose in the neighbourhood. He was on his way to work when he saw monkeys ransacking our neighbour’s dustbin. He quickly make a U-turn home and told me to keep all door and windows close. I am also not allowed to bring the boys to the playground as monkeys are spotted there too.Â
Those monkeys are very fierce. They wanted to jump on Darling when he took a picture of them.Â
We quickly alerted our neighbours. We are particularly concern for those with babies and toddlers at home.Â
A neighbour sent us the above picture.Â
It was a scary day with these monkeys ransacking everything in sight. I looked out and got worried if they’ll steal our laundry that I was drying in the car porch. I guess they are the ones who took that bottle of seeds. I want to believe it is these monkeys who took it. At least I have a closure on what happened to my poor seeds. They (the seeds) must be so scared being in the wild and away from me. If only they can find their way back home to me. I miss my seeds terribly :(
Do you know why suddenly there are so many monkeys around? Did you call the forestry officers to come and catch them? Hope all of you keep safe. When I was a baby, a monkey came and carry me and then accidentally scratched my forehead when my mother chased it away.
I don’t know why. Maybe they run out of food from where they are hence now they are venturing out of their comfort zone.
That is a scary story. Thank goodness the monkey did not manage to run off with you!
Where did they come from? Escaped from some place? Or somebody’s monkeys? Lots at Penang Botanical…and at Bako National Park in Kuching – they will creep into your chalets and steal your food if you leave the windows open but they do not attack people or anything.
Or….maybe they came to pay their respects to you, the Monkey Queen! Hehehehehe!!!!!
Tsk!!! LoL Monkey Queen pulak. I think these are wild monkeys. They look so fierce and unkept. No grooming at all. Anyway, no monkeys sighted today.
Gosh. Maybe someone could call the relevant authority to catch the monkeys. They could be a nuisance. Your poor seeds.
Yeah, my poor seeds.. sigh.
Contact Perhilitan. My neighbor contacted Perhilitan via their website and even attached photos. They came and set traps but unfortunately the monkey at my house didn’t go into the trap. The monkey in my neighborhood hasn’t shown up since Deepavali… So my fingers crossed here. And hope the monkeys at your place gets caught soon. They can be aggressive and will attack children
They disappeared today. Maybe the heavy downpour chased them away. I hope they wont return.
I would be more freaked out if the bottle of seeds miraculously showed up in front of me again! Let it go lah….
Maybe those monkeys read my blog, felt guilty and decided to return the bottle leh? Sigh… I really miss those seeds :(
oh, those are the ferocious version of FING-FING!!! hahaha.. now i know why you cannot recall Fing-Fing, because you were “struck” by these monyet~~ :p
