Kids Zone @ The Curve
Ayden and I have been down with boredom at home as it had been raining in the evenings the past weeks making us unable to get out for sunshine and fresh air. Finally I can’t take it anymore and told Darling to drop us in any shopping mall on his way to work. It is also my first time bringing Ayden out alone, without the father and big brother Ethan.
Darling dropped us in IKEA so I can get my favourite curry puff to cheer me up :) It was also Ayden’s first time in IKEA. We’ve not entered IKEA since Ayden was born until today! :O
Look at Ayden, all serious and curious. He is often like this at new places; observing the people and things around him first.
But this got him excited. He loves pressing buttons and this is some kind of an ‘ice breaker’ for him. He became more relaxed after that. After having our meal at IKEA cafe, we went to get my favourite kalipop and walked across to The Curve.
Pressing buttons again. It is also his first time pressing the buttons on the traffic light. I taught big brother Ethan the proper way to cross the road here too back in 2012. You can read all about ‘Crossing the road for children’ here.
Once at The Curve, I brought Ayden to their Kids Zone.
Kids Zone, The Curve.
It is stated that this Kids Zone is for children age 3-9 years old. OK, I think Ayden can pass as a 3 year old :P
Ayden is so used to the playground in our neighbourhood. This is his first time here and he is alone. I would like to see how he reacted to it, if he is afraid or brave enough to go play with the older children.
Yes he is. He is brave enough to go exploring alone…
Surrounded by children older and bigger than him.
Happily exploring. Doesn’t even bother to check if I am around.
Look at him, minding his own business.
See? I’m that far away yet he doesn’t even mind. Good boy. At least now I know he can go playing on his own just like big brother Ethan. I used to ‘dump’ Ethan at the guarded playground alone in IKEA as he bravely walked inside and try making new friends while I go shopping.
Then Ayden started climbing the slide. It was his first time climbing the slide unaided. After that he went down the stairs. It was also his first time going down the stairs unaided. Only now I know my son can already go down the stairs on his own. At home I always hold his hand when going down the stairs but today, he surprised me by going down confidently on his own.
Watch this video. Watch till the end to see what awaits him at the end of the tunnel…
He looked worried, sitting in the trolley! LOL!!!
He was observing his new surroundings. Hehe.
He was super excited to walk and play in The Curve.
Oh yes he is. He loves playgrounds.
Aden is so independent! I watched till the end but did not see what is at the end of the tunnel because the video ended before Aden got out of the tunnel at the other end.
Haha. I meant what was waiting at almost the end of the tunnel :P
It’s been a while since I went to idea. They seems revamped the kids zone. It was not like that last time.
This Kids Zone is at The Curve, not Ikea’s. Anyway, this is also new. Previous playground not like this.
He looks more and more like his brother. :)
He’s brave, Sam will occasionally look for me or Kenny whenever she playing at playground~
