Ethan, Have You Eaten?
Every where Ethan goes, people will be asking him, “Ethan, have you eaten?”. One fine day, Ethan told his Dad that when he was younger, he did not understand what that means. He thought people were always asking, “Ethan, have you Ethan?” and to him, that made no sense. Only recently did he finally get what people meant when they asked him, “Ethan, have you eaten?”
His conversation with his Dad prompted him to start a blog. It was also due to an indirect influence from his school computer lessons. Do you know that schools actually hold additional workshop to teach kids on blogging? I did not sign him up for that because it’s expensive lah! Maybe I can guide him a thing or two on blogging but first, we needed Uncle Kimmy because I know nuts about creating a blog, layout and all. I only know how to update content >_<
So after a thorough discussion with Ethan, he came out with this blog url – www.ethanhaveyoueaten.com
Kimmy almost fainted upon learning how lengthy the url is but helped Ethan to register it nevertheless. That was in February, last month. Once Ethan’s blog is up, I guided him on creating and posting contents. At first, I posted photos for him and his task is just to caption those pictures. I saw there is at least one post out there still without caption. Must be he doesn’t know what to write for that particular post. Haha. Once he gets the hang of writing a blog post, I taught him how to upload pictures into his blog. He can now upload pictures and write a complete blog post on his own.
I also signed his blog up with Nuffnang so he can start earning with his blog should he gets lucky enough to get visitors to read his blog. I did not however signed him up with Adsense because that one is very tricky. One false move and he’ll get blacklisted for the rest of his life so I’m not going to touch that until he is old enough to do it himself.Â
Today, slightly over a month after the birth of his blog, I saw this in his Nuffnang dashboard:
His very first earned RM through blogging. I was like, WOW! His blog is actually earning money! I remember earning my first RM0.20! I was over the moon with that RM0.20! This boy skipped RM0.20 and went straight to RM1.00! If he can continue earning RM1 per month, he needs only another 49 months before he can cash out as the minimum cashout is RM50. LoL.
Okay-lah. To me, it’s not so much about the earnings that matters for Ethan to be blogging. It is the experience and the learning process. Blogging will definitely help in his English language and computer lessons though.Â
I only allow him to blog using my laptop so I can monitor him and I make sure I have the password to his account at all times. He can change his password when he reaches legal age but for now, I’m his Akismet :P
Wah … so fast emulating the mom but he started so much much earlier! hahaha…
I saw his blog and I actually love it. I wonder if I comment, would he replied?
Anyway, its good he started blogging, it defnitely helps his english!
I also wonder would be get a lot of little girlfriends here? :D
You comment in my blog also sometimes I no time to reply comment :P My new year resolution is to try to reply all comments but somehow always fail coz I only have like an hour a day to spend on my blog :(
Ethan will have longer hours for his blog during the weekends. So far he has no comments in his blog except for two today from two very lovely ladies. Maybe he’ll reply them this weekend after his exam. He’s having his exam this week.
Wow! His school encourages students to blog? Interesting. Good also, it is like keeping a diary and same time improve his writing skills and vocabulary. I was thinking about my girl too. She does keep a diary and was wondering whether I should encourage her to set up and write a blog after learning Ethan has one. Hmm. If I do, I would be like you too, set password and keeping track of his writing. Haha.
Well done again to Ethan on earn first RM. I still having problem going into his blog. Don’t know why. Thought it is internet problem but I can go through other site. Not his.
He already has more pageviews per day than me >.<
Wow, he’s the youngest blogger I know!!!!
Way to go Ethan!
