Making my own charm bracelet
I made my very first charm bracelet back in 2011 under the guidance of Angie of Kelvin Gems. We became close acquaintance and kept in touch until today. I attended her drop earring workshop too and actually blogged about how to make charm bracelet and drop earrings. Click on the respective topic to read further:
Reading back, I can’t believe how girly I was. I kind of missed those days when I have the time for some jewellery craft instead of the usual art and craft for kids I hold in my studio. And then like as if she knows I am missing her, I got a call from her last week to tell me that she’ll be holding a jewellery workshop in Konikuniya KLCC and asked if I would like to join her. Of course I would. I will never pass any given opportunity to make my own jewellery. Angie is the Founder and Master Creator of Elegant Jewellery Studio (EJS), a Jewellery Making Academy established back in early 2013. They have special workshops in Konikuniya KLCC so I was keen to check it out.
So there I was in Kinokuniya Books on a Sunday morning, rekindling my passion in making my own jewellery. The rest of the participants have never make their own charm bracelets. I thought of making a necklace since I already have a charm bracelet and drop earrings but decided on making yet another charm bracelet because I love the charms that are available this time around.
Special pewter charms. I was mesmerized by the snowflake and was wondering if I could use that as a pendant for my necklace but since everyone is making a charm bracelet, I decided to just make one too.
The basic tools: Flat nose pliers, round nose pliers and cutting pliers.
Some of the charms.
And I set off to make my own charm bracelet.
First thing to do is to measure the bracelet. Then cut and fix the clasp.
Once I’m sure the bracelet length is correct I can proceed to add the charms.
But before that we’ll need to make hook rings for the charms. I still remember how to do this so I was doing okay.
While I was almost finish with my charm bracelet, I saw this sleepy face outside the bookstore. Oh dear.
I quickly fixed all the charms and tah-dah, I’m all done!
I super love my snowflake charm.
It took me about 2 hours to complete my charm bracelet. You too can make your own jewellery as their basic jewellery making workshop is only RM98 with all tools and materials provided. Check out their website for more info or call 03-2164 8133 for further info.
Ooooo…that’s lovely! My girl would love that! She would always buy charm bracelets though I’ve never seen her using them,. Girls!
So nice ! Can make one for me ?
I think the sleepy face was thinking: “Make new toys for me? Why take so long one?”
I never make one before. A friend of mine is into this business and maybe one day I will ask her to let me make one. This sounds fun!!
Haha, Ayden really looks sleepy there.
