Catch-up with an ex-classmate
One of the highlights of my Penang trip is to meet up an ex-classmate of mine whom I’ve not seen for almost 2 decades. Sometimes I wonder why people even bothered to make time to see me. You see, I’ve been giving him a hard time from the first day he found out I’ll be in Penang. He was so kind to initiate a meet up and also to try getting some other ex-classmates to join us. If you know me well, I’m not exactly the most helpful person around. He asked what would I like to eat and my answer was, “Anything”. I hate it if I ask that question and people reply me with just, “Anything” but I did just that to him yet he tolerated me.
Then, I cancelled my trip a week before the actual date so whatever plan he has made was cancelled altogether. BUT I rebooked my hotel room five days before going and informed him that I’ll be going to Penang after all. Again he had to figure out a plan with no help from me whatsoever. To make it worse, I told him the place he brings me better be good or I’ll mention him in my blog for bringing me to crappy food. It was meant to be a joke but he was actually pressured by it! LoL!
He preferred to bring us out for dinner but due to some miscommunication, I was double booked so lunch the next day it is. As the day draws nearer, he got pretty tensed up because he has yet to decide on a place for us. He made it clear that it will be his treat yet I so diva told him the place must not be too hot, preferably air-conditioned so my kids won’t melt but actually I takut my make-up lebur :P
He finally decided for us to meet at Gurney Paragon mall but still can’t figure out what to eat. He asked me if TWG is okay but I said “not so atas can?” He said ‘it’s not atas’ but no way I wanna be drinking tea and eating scones for lunch. Then he asked me to decide on TGIF, Ben or Morganfield’s but I answered him that I can get all those in KL too. I was simply testing his patience but still he wasn’t shaken. Steady betul my friend there.
Finally, seeing that I am not of any help, he told us to go to Morganfield’s. Hahaha. And then when we arrived, I saw these two cutie pies…
Alolo. Just look at them! So sweet in pink, smiling at us even though I’ve put their father through tough times. Haha. Somemore my friend siap order the Sharing Platter and the food is right there in front of his daughters yet they did not even dig in, patiently waited for us to arrive before they started eating. Such good mannered girls. Very well brought up I must say.
My friend and I.
We had a great time catching up and yes, I love the food that is served before us so I’m not gonna bitch about him on my blog :P
Sometimes I really have to thank my lucky stars. I’m not the best friend around yet I am so blessed to be surrounded by amazing people in my life. To my friend SW, thank you for taking time off work to meet us up. We really appreciate it but if you miss us, please make a trip down to KL as I doubt I’ll be going up Penang again anytime soon because we were caught on the road for 7 freaking hours coming home today! Sit in the car until butt oso cramp…
Ok…. points taken. I make sure you guys will be comfy when we meet up soon. :)
Hahahahaha. Did I agree to meet up with you, Chris? :P
Ooooo…pretty girls!!! Don;t you wish you had one too? Wink! Wink! LOL!!! Ooooo….the platter!!!! Hmmm…how come my KL friends never did something like that when I went over? Not enough friend lah like that…all of them! :(
Of course it would be nice to have a girl but I am happy with my boys :P
‘coz you’ve not met up with me in KL lah that’s why :D
7 hours?! How is that possible? It’s not long public holiday or what..
You good lah, can accept Morganfield’s, Your friend even better lah, can tolerate your BS hahaha!
I sometimes don’t like entertaining my friends from KL or other states, especially if they say things like: “bring me somewhere for the best authentic local food, but must be clean and comfy and with aircond”. I’ll fake an excuse and leave them alone when that happens..
I will actually accept anything lah. Was just pulling his leg. Mana tau he got so stressed up. Hahaha!
Wah 7 hours on the road back to KL. Your ex classmate is really a good friend.
Yeah 7 hours. Was crawling like a tortoise all the way… He is indeed :)
U ar…really bad lah, make your friend stress out even just a simple dine out date….LOL
Haha. I never intend it to be that way but .. Ok I am bad :P
