Ethan’s First Talent Competition
Ethan participated in his very first talent competition yesterday. It is called, “Kids Got Talent“. When we first found out about this competition, Ethan was excited to participate. But after reading further details, we found this clause – THIS TALENT COMPETITION IS OPEN TO ALL MALAYSIAN AGED BETWEEN 4 TO 18 YEARS OLD and we were like, “OK. 18 year olds are NOT kids!” and got hesitant from participating BUT Darling was very positive. He encouraged Ethan to join just for the fun of it, for the experience he said. “It’s not all about winning but the journey and experience that is more important,” said that old man of mine. I told him if he is willing to pay the fee then by all means, I’ll support Ethan all the way but I was still not very happy with 18 year old KIDS. They are teenagers for goodness sake!
So Darling paid the fee and we got Ethan’s piano and drum teacher to help him prepare for the competition. We prepared Ethan for the audition, unsure if he’ll make it into the Finals. Ethan had just mastered the song, “Just Give Me a Reason” by Pink but decided to take the risk and save it for the finals performance SHOULD he be in the Top 15 finalists. That means if he did not get into finals, he’ll blow his chance of performing that song at all.
D-Day comes and Ethan still wants to attend Taekwondo in school first before going for his audition! Unbelievable this boy… -.-

Here’s the video of Ethan’s audition performance:
There were 60 contestants and Ethan was number 58 to perform. After what had been a long day, they finally announced the Top 15 contestants to make it into the Finals. During the announcement, Ethan was the 14th contestant to make it into the Top 15. He told me he felt like almost having a heart-attack as he thought that he did not make it into the finals anymore.
That boy poor. All he wanted was to make it into the Top 15. That’s all. He practised hard hoping he can make it into the finals just so he can play that song by Pink.

Ethan was the only contestant playing the drum and piano for the Finals if I am not mistaken. The rest of the contestants were either singing or dancing. There was also a contestant performing magic. Ethan did his best, overcoming stage fright and tension of the competition. We told him to just have fun and let it all out now that he is already in the Finals.
Here’s Ethan’s performance for the Finals of Kids Got Talent.
Ethan did not make it into the Top 3. He won the Consolation Prize.
My champion with his consolation trophy. He might not win the Kids Got Talent but he is already a winner in our hearts. He did not freeze on stage and kept calm throughout his performances. It was nerve-wrecking yet he did it! We are very proud of him.
By the way, the winner of Kids Got Talent was a little girl, younger than Ethan if I am not mistaken. I do not know her age but she sang like a nightingale, so sweetly that we were all mesmerized by her voice. She totally deserved to win it. She’s very cute too :D
Ayden was Ethan’s biggest fan there, supporting his big brother all the way :D

Congrats, Ethan. Love your tie! Lovely trophy, the first of many to come. Keep it up!
Congrats to Ethan! He was good!
Yaloh. Should cut the age group to 4 – 12. above 12 is teenager.
The finals gave me goosebumps…. Well done Ethan!!! I notices that the drums and the piano are on both sides of the stage causing very little chance for eye contact with the judges. Should Ethan was able to send his killer looks to the judges, there would be higher chance of winning.
I salute Ethan for wanting to attend his taekwando lesson first, right attitude!
No pictures of the winner girl? Maybe Ethan can date him when they grow up XD
Great job Ethan! :)
Well done! So proud of you Ethan! I’m looking forward to seeing more of your performances. =)
Well done, Ethan. Keep it up!!
Well done! At least he manage to do his performance in public!
