Attention Seeking Baby
Ayden is 9 months old. He is more independent now. I can leave him in his cot while I go to the bathroom or kitchen and he’ll play on his own. He isn’t like this before. Previously he was very attention seeking. He’ll wail his lungs out if I leave him in the cot and disappear from his sight. He made me run back to him immediately to check if he’s alright but after some time, I let him cry for a while and SLOWLY walk back to him. I’ll call his name and once he sees me I’ll carry and give him a big hug and plenty of kisses. I think I gained his trust by doing that therefore he is more willing to let me go out of sight now.
But Ayden being the cheeky baby that he is will always try to  grab my attention at every given opportunity no matter how independent he is..
Hehe. Mommy 1 – 0 Baby :D
he’s so cute..
He is a very good boy not as clingy as Faith. I can’t leave her alone in the cot eventhough I’m not out of sight.
My Jamie still want me to be around him. Or he will wail. Sigh! Cannot leave him too long for anything. And it gets worse after we are back from our holiday. Maybe angry or upset with us for leaving him behind?? Lol!
Working with babies under 3 yo at creche, I find that children who goes to childcare tends to be less clingy to parents and be more willing to play with other kids. Same goes for children who are cared by extended family, and not just at home alone with mum. =)
Lol …. mommy so bad. Btw , can I smell the cot ? I’m sure it smells good.
Ooh yea, that’s how we build trust and assure them! Next time you can leave him to play with his kor kor already.
I notice that all babies seek attention. And I think some do not get past this and continue to be an attention seeker as adults haha!
cute boy.
Baby always need attention one, last time Aden also like that.
Perhaps he’s teething. Watch out – he’ll be biting you all over…blue black!
hehe.. time fly.. mine can’t even stay still in playpen, then he found way to climb out.. then destroy it by making a hole.. so he can in and out easily. :(
