Pasta Zanmai @ Sunway Pyramid
Darling had to meet a client in Sunway today so we took the opportunity to tag along. He dropped us in Sunway Pyramid and after a while I got tired and hungry. I thought of having pizza but it was too far and coincidentally we were right in front of Pasta Zanmai. Since we’ve never tried dining here, I went right in with Ethan and Ayden.
Pasta Zanmai @ Sunway Pyramid
As soon as we were seated, Darling called to inform me that his meeting is over and he’ll be joining us for an early dinner.
Autumn Leaf -RM18-
I was so tired that I decided to get this healthy and refreshing juice mix of orange, pear and celery.
“Open up, Mommy’s pouring it now!” LoL! No la, we did not drink it that way la. We used glasses like every other diners there.
Soft Shell Crab no Meintaiko Tortilla Roll -RM17-
Our appetizer is this soft shell crab tortilla roll. It has no rice so it’s not called sushi. It has japanese cucumber and soft shell crab rolled in tortilla wraps. Topped with avocado and spicy cod roe and torched to bring up the flavour.
Seafood Cheese Pizza (Regular) –RM28-
Remember I wanted pizza? So I had this prawn, squid and cheese pizza. It has 6 succulent prawns seated nicely on sliced zucchini and topped with mozzarella cheese.
Mini Kaki Kimuchi Pasta to Tori Karaage Garlic Rice –RM26-
Darling ordered this kimchi noodles just because he saw that it comes with garlic rice and fried chicken too! The kimchi broth is thick and tasty from to the miso paste used. It contains mirin. Mirin is an essential condiment used in Japanese cuisine. It is a kind of rice wine similar to sake, but with a lower alcohol content and higher sugar content.
Treasures inside includes mixture of shitake, shimeiji and oyster mushroom, chopped cabbage, sliced carrot and onion. I actually love this as it is spicy! Darling love the fragrant fried garlic rice and the tender fried chicken. The chicken is marinated with sake, ginger and garlic; fried and served with sliced cucumber and lettuce. Topped with white sesame dressing.
Teppanyaki Lobster to Spicy Pasta –RM28-
Ethan had lobster pasta. It is mildly spicy as it is cooked with concentrated spicy paste and stir fried with fish sauce. It is served a little wet. The lobster teppanyaki is marinated with black pepper, sake, butter and soy sauce. Cooked together with sliced onion and spinach and served with onion dressing. The onion dressing is made up of onion and vinegar so it is slightly sourish.
Our dessert is this soft Hokkaido red bean with crepe, topped with green tea ice cream. The kids can’t wait to dig in but…
I told them to WAIT! I need to take picture first especially ice cream that melts if I am not quick enough. The downside of having a blogger mom! Things that I do just so I can share with my readers :P
Macha Crepe –RM12-
No I did not starve my kids.
They, or rather Ethan, had a feast that day. He walloped almost all of the prawns on that pizza leaving me with squid, zucchini and cheese but it was still delicious nevertheless.
Huhu.. Sampai hati.Kecur air liur. But anyway sake not halal for us Muslim
You mean they serve pork?
Jolene,
I think Hamsatul was referring to the alcohol content in sake that makes it non-halal.
I think their set meals are quite worth the value, noodles + rice , would certainly love to try their lobster pasta
Yes you really should, Ken :)
Woah … great looking pasta! I miss sunway pyramid especially the old town cafe. :)
Haha Old Town pulaks! Next time we come here instead k? ^_^
yeah, i love Pasta Zanmai, i think the food suits my taste!! i also super-duper love that garlic fried rice with karaage, almost order that every time i go there.. and the pizza, i also love it, but i would actually opt for the one with hotate (scallop), taste nicer!!
Oh really? Then I must go again to try the scallop pizza. I love pizza and wont mind having it again and again! :)
