Chinese New Year Snack : Seaweed Roll
For the past couple of years (or maybe slightly more) I’ve not been making anything for Chinese New Year. I was always busy with Ang Pow decor workshops that I hardly have time to be in the kitchen. This year though, I tried making at least ONE snack and the chosen snack is non other than the simplest of the lot – Seaweed roll.
Nori sheets, popiah skin and egg white. That’s all we need to make this super duper easy snack.
Place a popiah skin on a clean board. Spread egg white on it. Place nori sheet and roll. Cut into small pieces. Fry.Â
Within minutes you’ll get these super addictive delicious seaweed roll snack.Â
I prefer the end parts though. They are crispier and more enjoyable to bite. I guess my next batch I’ll just make seaweed crunch where instead of rolling nori sheets and popiah skin together, we just fold them and cut.Â
These seaweed snacks are really addictive I must warn you. Once you start munching on them, you’ll never stop until they are all GONE!
I wish I can make more but each time I’m in the kitchen trying to make something, this heads come popping in:
Peek-a-boo I see YOU! Okay, he found me. I got to go now. Adios amigos…Â
Any spare ones? I don’t mind having a box of that :D
Dijamin sampai hari esok… ;)
Mmm. I want some. Gimme. :D

I love fried pohpia skin without the nori sheets. After frying, add some icing sugar. So addictive !
