Weekend Updates
How was your weekend? Ours was a very hectic one. Besides having additional tuition classes for my students to prepare them for the upcoming UPSR trial which was supposed to start tomorrow (but now all school closed due to the haze, I’m not sure about the UPSR trial anymore though) we were also busy with Ethan’s public drum performances with other students from Piano Station, Sunway Giza for two consecutive nights.
After my tuition classes on Saturday we went to Sunway Giza early for sound check. The first thing Ethan saw was this little fish pool and the guy manning it invited Ethan to try catching some fish so he can bring them home.
Ethan tried and managed to catch 5! Today, only 1 still survives at home :(
After washing his hands he went straight to the drum for sound check.
Testing, testing 1,2, 3. All good so we went for dinner.
An hour later…
Ethan bravely played 3 drum solos in front of the crowd. That was the first night, Saturday night.
On the second day we went grocery shopping and then straight to Giza again. No fish catching this time so Ethan went straight for sound check.
Routine sound check turned into a DRUM BATTLE when the mischievous clown challenged Ethan!
So cute to see both of them trying to outdo each other.
Ethan vs Clown
Look at the cheeky Ethan laughing with the clown. I think he had most fun then!
And when a guy with a mic came to ‘interview’ Ethan, the Clown pretended to sulk there because he was ignored and not interviewed! LoL!
Soon, play time is over and the real show began with some other bands’ performances but since this is MY blog I’m only going to blog about Ethan’s performances :P
Ethan’s drum solo performance on the full-sized drum.

It was a fun night. That boy of mine really loves to be on stage.
We brought him to the bookstore after that to buy him his favourite book as a reward for doing a good job.
While the Daddy bought ME some Thai durians! It was my FIRST ever durian for the YEAR and I’m so happy!
That basically sums up our weekend. How did yours go? I hope the haze did not ruin it for ya!
bravo Ethan! bravo! well done!
the haze is coming to Penang…. i can literally ‘smell’ it already, and the city looks hazy this morning X.X
Cool..great showmanship by Ethan. Drums and Durians do have something in common? The ‘D’ haha.
Little Drummer Boy! So cute!!! Keep it up, Ethan!!!
Suffocating from the haze la! BTW, good job to Ethan!
More performances to come! :D
well done…well done Ethan. I’m glad you can still manage some outdoor activities despite of the haze.
Well done Ethan, he did a great job. We just laze at home due to the haze sigh.
Ethan loves the limelight? A great weekend! But the best is the durian!! Yum!! Yum!!! I WANT!!!
