Second chance at preschool

If you have been following my blog or my FB, you’ll know that we enrolled Ethan for Kindy for the very first time this year in March. Never in our dreams did we expect it would be such a nightmare. You can read about our, or rather Ethan’s nightmare here and here. The last straw was when that particular boy poked Ethan’s ear with a sharp pencil and STILL no action was taken against that boy. The pastor’s wife told me the Pastor had had a talk with all the teachers yet STILL NO ACTION was taken! We pulled Ethan out of that school that instant. That was an extremely agonizing 2 weeks of Kindy for Ethan.

That Kindy from hell is Pusat Cemerlang Subang 2. We did not get any refund todate as the Principal said that the class teacher (who has failed to take any action all these while) is on leave hence she can’t do anything about it! What is the use of a Principal when she has absolutely NO POWER in that school? You might as well put a pig to sit there >_< Pardon my language, I’m still pissed!

After all our reports, all we got from them was ‘we pray that things will be better for Ethan’. I’m sorry. I’m not here to condemn Christianity or anything but to me, if all you do is PRAY yet NO ACTION is taken, NOTHING will come out of it! You have got to at least DO SOMETHING to support your prayers, haven’t you? -.-

Anyway, that’s the past. We let Ethan stay home for two weeks to calm his nerve. He was reluctant to attend anymore Kindergarten after that ordeal but after 2 weeks at home, we managed to talk him into giving Kindy a second chance.

This week, he finally started Kindy again at a franchised preschool. The uniform is cuter now and everything was done more systematically.

Ethan was very brave. He still does not require me to follow him to school. The Daddy drove him there and this time, just drop him in front of the school. The teacher collects him there. Well done my boy. You faced your fears. He still won’t go near his former Kindergarten though.

Ethan came home with many happy stories. I’m glad to see his wide smile as he told us every details. I hope we got the right school this time. I hope this happiness will last. The teacher gave Ethan a message book yesterday to convey a message to me. Ethan told me to decorate the book and we did, together.

I wish nothing but happiness in school for Ethan and may his dream of attending a happy school come true this time.

Aww, like you said, at least Ethan has no fear going to this one. We don’t want him to get all traumatized with school at such young age. But poking his ear….that’s really something. My hormone surged a little when I read that… They should have done something about it. Alas, it’s all past tense. Good luck to Ethan.

Merryn i fully support what you have said in the first half of this post!! anyway, no point to piss yourself off mentioning that first kindy, since Ethan is so happy with his second kindy, you should move on also share his happiness in this right choice.. :)

I like to see Ethan feels happy again. We want them to feel happy to school and come back tell us many stories about the teacher and also meeting new friends.

It is good to step out from that XXX kinder and change to another one…

That’s *horrible*! I’m very anti-bullying and that pencil stunt should have gotten the kid dismissed. No action being taken is inexcusable. Inaction is indirect sanction.

Glad to see Ethan going to another preschool now.
