First time doing a TV recording with our friends and their kids

Never under estimate the power of blogging. The other day, when I blogged about Ethan making honeydew smoothie here, it caught the attention of Yvonne from TV1 and she called me to request for a tutorial recording. She also read about my donut and pizza bento posts and wanted us to demo how to make them too. Of course I agreed but the only problem then was the recording will be held at MY house. Well, what’s the problem you ask me? The problem is, my house is in a complete mess!

It was Wednesday when I got her call and we scheduled the recording for Saturday which means I only have 2 to 3 days to clean the house. Nevertheless, I took up the challenge and started to clean my house immediately.

I was also allowed to invite some of my friends and their kid(s) over as my house guests so I invited Kimmy (and son Jonathan) and Cynthia (and daughter Breanna). I’m so glad they are willing to come :D

D-day came and we recorded 3 tutorials – honeydew smoothie, donut and pizza bento. I started with Ethan on the honeydew smoothie. Jonathan and Breanna were a bit shy then as they have not warmed up to their surroundings. By the time we got to the donut bento they are more comfortable but still did not join us.

Finally when I am about to make the pizza bento, Princess Breanna bravely came over to join me! What a clever little girl! Soon after Jonathan joined us too and we got started on our pizza bento. 

Breanna and Jonathan did pretty well today. Ethan did well too. I am so proud of him making the honeydew smoothie, he practiced the instructions before going to bed last night :D

Once the pizza bento is done, it is a wrap for today. Boy, am I glad it went smoothly without any hick-ups!

They interviewed Cynthia and Breanna after the bento making session. Breanna closed her mouth tightly with her palm. I did not know why but Cynthia told me that on the way home she asked Breanna and she said that she is scared of that Big, big mic going into her mouth hence she closed it tight! LoL! Too cute!

They also interviewed Kimmy and Jonathan. Kimmy said his favourite bento is the honeydew drink. Kimmy, I don’t think the honeydew drink is supposed to be a ‘bento’ :P

Anyway, I saw this pic in Cynthia’s FB and was wondering when it was taken because I did not see the kids posing like this at all when I was around. Cynthia told me it was taken after we completed the recording and I was busy on the phone, ordering ‘real’ pizza. Aww… I missed this! The kids look so happy here :D *eh sorry Cyn, I just realised I ter-watermark this pic*

Half an hour later the pizza that I ordered arrived and we had pizza lunch together with the TV crew too. 

After lunch, the kids played Battle Field where Princess Breanna as graceful as she is, held a gun too! There you can see the BIGGEST kid bullying the smaller ones! >_<

Overall, it was a nice experience. It was extra fun today as I am accompanied by my closest friends and their kids. It would be nice if we are all given another chance like this ^_^

By the way, the recording is tentatively scheduled to be on air on the 4 April 2013 (TV1). Time is to be advised. Will let you all know the exact time as soon as I get the confirmation :)
