Behind the scene experience
Last Saturday was an extremely hectic day for Ethan and I. It marks the first day both Ethan and I started working with a TV station on a project that will be aired somewhere in April. My role is as the Creative Contributor where I contribute ideas on the crafts that will be made and also to guide the kids on how to make those crafts before recording begins. Ethan’s role is to make the crafts alongside the 3 hosts. He has no dialogue though so you won’t be hearing him speak except for the occasional ‘HI” greetings.
Recording took place in our Crafty-Crafted Studio.
We began with the recording of the 1st episode that took longer than expected. I did not expect the hosts to find making the first craft difficult but they did. I’ve practiced making the craft with Ethan earlier so he had not much trouble completing it but the girls find it a bit challenging. Nevertheless, with a bit of perseverance they all completed their crafts beautifully.
We took a lunch break after the 1st episode was done and continued with the 2nd episode right after.
The kids find it easier now as they are already getting the hang of it. Second episode was such a breeze.
But this Ethan, being the first time doing a recording, will tend to look back to me to ask if he is doing it right! *smack forehead*
The 3 hosts will spend more time recording, doing the opening scene and all. Ethan is not included in those and will take a cat nap while waiting for his turn.
I’m really proud of Ethan as the recording took place from 10am-6pm yet he was well behaved throughout.
Finally we did the recording for the 3rd episode and at 6pm, we call it a day. Everyone cheered and I breathe a sigh of relief as we did not encounter any major obstacle during the entire session.
Well, this will only be aired sometime in April so till then, I am not allowed to disclose much about the programme. But no worries, I’ll definitely keep you all updated closer to the launch of this show.
It was a great learning experience for both Ethan and I. We now really salute artists out there as we know now that it ain’t easy working in front of the camera. A 10 seconds shot could take minutes to complete! But we really had a great time :D
Looking forward to see the footage~ Jia you Ethan and mommy!
Thumbs up…n looking forward to it!
Ethan must be very tired. Thumbs up for him and you too!
