Superstars of Magic 2, Genting Magic Festival 2012

We were extremely privileged to be invited by Nuffnang and Resorts World Genting to catch Superstars of Magic 2 at Genting International Showroom on Friday evening. It was such a privilege that Darling took half day off so he could join us too. We had dinner at Genting Hotel’s Coffee Terrace Restaurant before the show. Awesome buffet spread, simply lavish but that is a story for another entry :D

So here we are at Genting International Showroom for Superstars of Magic 2.

I did not know what to expect, you know, having watched Breaking the Magician’s Code series on TV without fail.  I thought having broken the Magician’s Code, nothing can impress me anymore but boy was I WRONG!

Chipper Lowell is the official MC of the evening. Extremely comical, he made us laugh silly at his antics. Even Ethan understands his jokes and MAGIC! I had a hanky with me at all times to wipe off my tears from too much laughing!

The first act is by Charlie Frye & Co. If you think magicians have it easy in their marriage, you’ve got to watch this! LoL at the reluctant assistant/spouse Sherry who is more in love with her powder mirror than helping Charlie out. A great start to a magical evening!

The moment Nestor came on stage I was star-struck. He is extremely GOOD-LOOKING! OMG he has this infectious killer smile but what is more amazing is his faster than light speed hands! I’m simply at awed by his act. I can’t comprehend where all those cards came from and before I can digest what is happening, there are cards all over the place!! I went home dreaming of him… 

I LIKE Christian Lindemann for the fact that he LIKES Facebook as much as I DO! Haha.. He likes Facebook so much that he incorporates FB into his act ^_^. I LIKE! You’ve got to watch him to believe it. Okay, I’ve watched him yet I still don’t believe how he can pick someone’s pocket just like that!

Ethan’s favourite has got to be Word’s Greatest Escape Artist Dean Gunnarson’s act. It was Ethan’s first time watching an escape artist performs LIVE. Hey, it was MY very first time watching it LIVE too! I tried holding my breath together with Dean as he was locked submerged in water but before they can make sure all the locks are secured I’ve already ran out of breathe and had to breathe for more air! Ethan screamed in delight when Dean managed to make his way out :D

I’m at lost for words for this couple’s performance. No logic can explain what we had just witnessed. It’s a wonder how Ning can be on stage only to appear some hundred metres away in seconds!

I’ve just watched Katy Perry’s Part of Me the night before and saw how she changes into so many clothes like in seconds and were thinking that can’t be real, must be some kind of video trick or something and then I watched THIS, LIVE! Right before my very eyes, Victoria changed into countless outfits in mere seconds! Impossible!! But THEY made it possible! -.-

We were also entertained by Sos & Victoria’s son, Sos & Tigran Junior. Amazing act at such a young age, these boys have bright future in MAGIC!

Ethan sat like that throughout the 90-minute production show. Not moving, not blinking, forgetting to breathe from time to time!

Superstars of Magic 2 is simply ENTERTAINING! My eyes tricked me and my brain just gave up thinking! Each magician has a very strong stage presence that it is impossible for us to BLINK as we’re afraid we’ll miss something if we did!

After the show before we left, Ethan managed to get a shot with his favourite, Dean Gunnarson. That is so NICE! I did not manage to catch Nestor though :(

Genting’s Superstars of Magic 2, simply amazing you’ve got to WATCH it to BELIEVE it! 

At the end of the show Ethan said, “Mommy I wanna learn MAGIC!” :)
