Steamed Wheat Crackers Koko Krunch Cake recipe
We were supposed to go to the playground but it rained. Rainy days calls for emergency baking but I don’t have all the necessary ingredients to bake a decent cake. I looked through my cabinet and found some wheat crackers and leftover Koko Krunch from the Cute Doggies Cookies the other day.
I thought of steaming a cake so I checked if I have all the necessary ingredients:
220gm of butter (original recipe calls for 250gm but I find it too oily so I cut down to 220gm instead)
150gm sugar (I’d reduced it to 130gm in future as the Koko Krunch is already very sweet)
100gm wheat crackers (blended until powdery)
100gm Koko Krunch (blended until powdery)
5 eggs
OK so I do have all the ingredients needed. It’s time to summon my little chef to the kitchen :)
Method:
Preheat oven. LoL ok so you need not preheat your oven since we are not baking. Preheat your steamer perhaps? Add water to your steamer and let it boil.
Add sugar into the mixer.
Add butter.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one by one and mix well.
Divide the mixture into half. Add wheat cracker powder to one portion. Mix well.
Add Koko Krunch powder to the other portion and mix well.
Spread a layer of either wheat crackers or Koko Krunch. Ethan chose to spread wheat crackers first. Steam for 15 minutes. Add the Koko Krunch mixture and steam for another 15 to 20 minutes.Â
Let it cool before cutting.
Beautiful, moist and delicious steamed wheat crackers Koko Krunch cake for tea :)
ooo looks yummylicious :X can put honey star? XD
Manis giler that time!
I bet the best part for the little cook was beating the butter and sugar. Can see from his happy face. hahahah
So yummy….it makes me wanted to get the equipment ready for cake making.
haha, maybe u can further reduce the amount of sugar used by adding some honeystars too ? blend in the “vanilla-milk” flavor :P
Ethan got washed hand or not after going to toilet? If not, I’m sure it would be more delicious! :D
