What to do with mayonnaise?
I got this bottle of Japanese mayonnaise from Ethan’s class educational trip recently. I have no idea what to do with it until yesterday when I discovered that it is going to expire this December when I stripped it! :P Oh dear, better use it fast before it expires!
Japanese Kewpie sudah bogel :D
What we did was to blanch some carrot sticks and cut some japanese cucumbers. I used normal carrot as I doubt there is any Japanese carrots out there ^_^
Ethan happily squeezed some mayo all over the carrot and cucumber.
I sprinkled lots of fried shallots over it and there, one dish is ready for dinner!
I tasted it and yums, I love it! Ethan loves it too!
You know what? The fried shallots is the KEY ingredient in making THIS a success! I don’t think this will be nice without the fried shallots. Next I shall try this with broccoli instead. I bet it will be just as nice if not BETTER!
Nice. Mix with mashed hard boiled eggs, make sandwiches, eat with fried chicken instead of chili or tomato sauce…cook pasta… Lots of ways to use it all up.
mixed with canned tuna… make sandwich or sushi roll.
boiled any vegies, eat it as a dip. I like boiled asparagus with mayonaise.
I love japanese mayonaise, but I rarely buy due to very short lifespan… most japanese products are like that.. 3 to 6 months then expires already.
Simple & nice…but don’t eat too much. Mayonnaise is fattening. Eiaks…..
I used Kewpie mayonnaise to make egg mayo sandwich for my girls.
Usually use it for sandwiches or salads. My boy loves to mix it with some tomato sauce.
Oh my..that was really creative :)
Very very healthy and crunchy, I like it.
But I think I will do without the fried shallots, I do not like its taste.
Oh, Sedap!! I also like Kewpie!
Merryn, kewpie taste fantastic with Karaage Chicken (Japanese Fried Chicken). http://decuisine.net/2012/04/soft-karaage-chicken/
You can also do the Japanese potato salad with kewpie. Yumzzzz!!!
Thanx for the recipe Chin Nee. Will try that out one of these days :D
what’s the different between Japanese mayo with the normal one? O.O
