Ramadhan Review : One World Hotel
Throughout the holy month of Ramadhan, Cinnamon Coffee House renowned for its wide array of glorious traditional Malay specialities, is putting together a melting pot of local and international dishes which have carved a place in our hearts as perennial favourites.
Aptly themed Warisan Bonda, we embarked on a culinary journey savouring mom’s home-cooked recipes.
At the carving stall, we indulged in Roast New Zealand Whole Lamb Malay style with special sauces.
A wide range of Malaysian Sambals like Sambal Tempoyak, Sambal Budu, Sambal Belacan, Sambal Cincaluk, Sambal Hijau, Sambal Mangga Pedas and list goes on. I tried their mussels in sambal tempoyak and it was okay. LoL. Let’s say it’s light enough for non-durian lovers but not as pungent for hardcore durian lovers like ME!
Tempoyak is fermented durian. It not to difficult to make tempoyak. With the flesh removed from the seeds and mixed with salt, it is left in a closed container to be fermented at room temperature for a couple of weeks or up to a month. It is then transferred to the fridge to maintain freshness and lifespan. I love eating tempoyak complimented with sambal belacan. It makes the most delicious and appetizing meal in the whole wide world!
Not to be missed is the Aneka Kerabu Station serving Urap Pegagap Sari, Kerabu Kaki Ayam, Kerabu Udang with Glass Noodle, Kerabu Mangga Bunga Kantan and Kerabu Taugeh Bercili.
The Lemang, Ketupat Palas, Nasi Himpit, Roti jala and Serunding Ayam is not to be missed too.
We tried the smoked duck and it was smoked to perfection. The meat is tender and flavorful.
Ethan enjoying marshmallows :)
Our delightful ice-cream to end our scrumptious meal.
