Genting Chin Swee Temple Vegetarian Restaurant
A couple of weeks ago, we went up to Chin Swee Temple in Genting Highland, Pahang. It’s so beautiful here as we have cool breeze day in, day out!
We fell in love with the breathtaking view of Chin Swee Temple. We super love the cool weather too!
Okay, the thing is, before going for this excursion, we were worried that all we’ll be having is bread and water. Can’t blame me as Chin Swee is located in the middle of a hill. You’ll have no where to eat unless you go all the way up to Genting or go down to Gotong Jaya, right?
WRONG!
There is this vegetarian restaurant right here at the temple called Genting Chin Swee Temple Vegetarian Restaurant. What else did you expect it to be named? Haha..
Genting Chin Swee Temple Vegetarian Restaurant
We, the Nuffnang bloggers are so relieved to know that we’ll be having more than just bread! :P
First dish that was served before us is the vegetarian fish. Slightly sour and spicy, Ethan did not eat this.
Vegetarian Fried Mushroom
This is Ethan’s favourite! He thought he was eating crispy fried chicken! Eventhough it was slightly spicy (as there are birds eye chili scattered on it) Ethan still ate it like a champ.
I like vegetarian dishes in the most original form and by that I meant having real vege so this stir fried vege I likey!
We also have vegetarian curry. Love the tofu and vege in it. The curry is so light that we all had it as soup! It was so nice sipping hot curry on a cold, cold day!
This vegetarian meal has pineapple, okra, tomatoes and more vege in it. I love the pineapple. Sweet with a hint of sour, simply appetizing.
Vegetarian sotong. Actually, if I’m going vegetarian, I don’t need all these artificial fish, squid or chicken. I just need fresh vege but I do understand some folks just like to have them no matter what.
Vegetarian soup. Again, it’s nice to be sipping hot broth on a cold day or night.
Vegetable and mushroom dish. Love the juicy mushroom a lot!
Lastly, authentic stir-fried vege to my delight.
It was unbelievable that we had vegetarian meal for breakfast, lunch and dinner yet did not feel deprived of meat (or in my case is FISH) at all! Cool huh? I never thought I’ll survive it but I did. Ethan too and here we are are, the survivors, blogging about our awesome vegetarian meal :D
Thank you Nuffnang and Resort World Genting for having us.
yea i don mind eating all these vegetarian dishes as well as long as they are good, but sometimes i find them unhealthy, apparently deep fried dishes are pretty commonly seen :(
Most of the dishes here spicy lagi tu so Ethan had limited choices only lah. Luckily for me, that boy can do with just soup and rice! :D
I like vegetarian too and a bit of “meat” (flour!) would be nice la. Is this place open to public for lunch/dinner?
Yes, Joanna. It’s open for public :)
On the way to Genting. I remember I read in a book – there was a sign by the main road: “Vegetarian available here!!!” LOL!!! Makes one wonder whether there was some horny nun or monk… ;)
Wut??!!! >_<
Been to this Chin Swee Temple a few years ago. A very quiet and serene place.
Just went up Genting last 2 weeks ago. I like vegetarian food but didn’t drop by this temple though. The price must be on the high side coz Genting everything mahal.
Nice treat from Nuffnang…
All the dishes didn’t look vegetarian at all, even the stir fried vegies, still have some fried lard look-a-like sprinkle on top. But I do appreciate the effort to make the vegetables to look like meats.
Vegetarian food can be yummy too! ;)
I only been this temple once. Never know there is a vegetarian restaurant there.
Oo.. there have restaurant one..
I love vegetarian fish. Must be nice!
Wow… the food tempting and lovely… drooling.. =)
I’m a semi-vegetarian and I love everything I see here… the real veggies, textured “meat” and all :) They don’t look like food from a temple though… :p
The vegetarian fried mushroom look tempting! :D
I love vegetarian food…
I’ve tried the fried mushroom and I love it a lot!
