Turtle Sanctuary, Cherating Pahang
During our 3D/2N stay in Awana Kijal, Golf, Beach & Spa Resort, we signed up for the Kampung Tour. One of the activities arranged for Kampung Tour is a visit to the Turtle Sanctuary in Cherating Pahang.
Let’s take a look:
Turtle Sanctuary and Information Centre
Chendor Beach
A nice traditional ‘home’ that houses turtles.
There is no fee charged to enter but you can donate for the upkeeping and conservation of turtles.
We got excited seeing adult green turtles and Hawksbill Turtle. So sad that we won’t be able to see the Leatherback anymore as they are now endangered species on the verge of extinction :(
Mommy and Ethan turtle ^_^
We saw many baby turtles too. They are so cute with their fluffy flippers!
We even got to see the turtle feeding <3
There is also a mock turtle hatch showing the process from the moment the eggs are laid to the hatching of the hatchlings.
Baby turtles (hatchlings) making their way up..

And then we proceeded to mengkuang weaving. Check out our weaving post here.
Really salute that you could bring Ethan wherever you go ….. if me, sure a lot of dramas! Does he still need to nap?
That little turtle really looks cute hor … hope it will be well protected by the government and hopefully all of us :)
Hi Caroline,
Ethan does not nap anymore but when we
r out the entire day like this, he’ll either fall asleep in the bus or just tahan until night time. As long as he us occupied, he’s okay. He loves new experiences so travelling with him can be so much fun! :)
amazing sea turtle tour!
That is a fruitful day! Can’t wait to see more updates!
What a lovely, fruitful and educational trip!
looking forward for your keropok lekor post! XD
Very nice trip…
Baby turtles are so cute, right!
Do they sell the eggs? Legally, that is. I hear you can buy but they’re controlled…
Nope. They don’t sell turtle eggs there.
Reading your posts brings back lots of sweet memories of our trip here. We came to this turtle sanctuary too and turtle-watching at night was even more fun…
Sam will be loving this because she can recognize turtle! ^__^
This is awesome! I want to experience it too! Do they have turtle watching tour at night?
Yes they do, depending on the season.
The baby turtles are so tiny and adorable, how I wish I can see the hatching process in real life!
