Rihanna vs Whitney Houston : What do they have in common?
Though Rihanna has shrugged off rumors that she is in the running to play the role of Whitney Houston in a forthcoming biopic, it’s eerie to learn the similarities between those two.
#1 They are twins born 25 years apart
Look at this picture:
OMG! Don’t they both look ALIKE?! It creeps me out when I saw these two pictures that I just can’t help but to put them together!
#2 They both love BROWN
Look at the man by their side – Bobby and Chris BROWN. Similar surname aside, let’s see what else they have in common.
Both Browns have a collection of ONE Grammy each
Bobby Brown collected one Grammy for “Best Male R&B Vocal Performance” in 1989 for “Every Little Step.”
Chris Brown won his first Grammy for “Best R&B Album” in 2012 for “F.A.M.E.”
They both hit woman!
In 2003, Bobby Brown was charged with battery against his then-wife Whitney Houston after threatening to “beat her ass.”
In 2009, Chris Brown pleaded guilty to felony assault charges after beating his girlfriend, Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty.
#3 They both love bad boys
In 2003 when Bobby was charged with battery against Whitney, the couple arrived at that court appearance arm in arm with Whitney smiling proudly despite a bruised cheek and a cut inside her lip. The couple kissed and held each other as they entered the county building.
Rumors are blazing after Chris Brown’s appearance on the remix of Rihanna’s song “Birthday Cake” that they’ve gotten back together after his horrific assault on her in 2009 yet she doesn’t really care what people think of her decision.
#4 They both have won 6 Grammys each
Houston won six Grammys between 1986 and 2000. Rihanna has won six Grammys to date.
So should Rihanna or the rumoured Jennifer Hudson be playing Whitney? I wonder what Jennifer Hudson has to offer besides her amazing octave range? It takes a beautiful woman to play Whitney…
Other similarity that both Whitney and Rihanna share is they both started singing at a very young age but don’t they (successful artists) all do?
And then there’s Ashton Kutcher to play Steve Jobs! :O Dare not even peek into the similarity… >_<
Wow…looks like you are their big fans? :p
I’m a big fan of Whitney :)
Didn’t know they share those thing in common until read your blog…
Hahahaha! Good one. Quite a lot of similarities. Even more than her own daughter Bobby Brown.
The similarities go beyond that. Both are fantastic singers who believe they can act, which they don’t. So, Rihanna playing Whitney? As clones, maybe. As an actress portraying a legend? Nah……
Now, Ashton and Steve… Let me see. One is a young actor who found fame with the help of old has-been actress, the other was an old man who found fame by bringing in new exciting technology. One speaks with clarity, the other mumbles his way through. One had vision, the other, rather invisible. Oh! sorry, I was suppose to list the similarity. Guess there ain’t any.
But still, he is just one of the actors dying for the role of Steve Jobs. There is one other actor who had played Jobs and got recognition from the man himself, Noah Wyle. He is eyeing a part as well as George Clooney. Then again, there will be definitely more than one film on the man in the near future.
In the end, I think it is important to have really good actors to portray lost legends to be able to bring to life the turmoil within them as they went through life. A light weight actor will not do justice to the characters. Case in point is Keanu Reeves’ portrayal of Buddha, just not right. On the other hand, Ben Kingsley’s Gandhi was and still is considered a classic, text book, case study example of good acting.
Very well said! I super LIKE this comment! :D
