DIY Chinese New Year decor : Angry Bird Ang Bao Wheel of Fortune
It’s crazy how close Chinese New Year is from Christmas. I still haven’t taken the ornaments down from our Christmas tree yet here we are making Red Packet decorations already for CNY!
Today we’ll be making Ang Bao Wheel Of Fortune
Red Packet Wheel of Fortune
We’ll need ten Ang Bao wrappers if we are using the long type. If you are using the square packets then you’ll need to double the amount.
Fold the long Ang Bao into half and cut.
Step 1 – Put two together and staple the middle.
Step 2 – Add another Ang Bao and staple the sides as shown above.Â
Repeat Step 1 and 2 until you are done with all the Ang Baos.
Staple one end to the other to form a wheel. Cut a prosperous wording or nice Chinese New Year picture from any Red Packet and paste in the middle. Add tussle and a gold string and hang.
But Ethan insisted to paste Angry Bird in the middle as he helped me with this so he claimed he has the right to choose! >_<
Check out the rest of our Chinese New Year decor collections:

i do love your posting at giza mall….its fantastic….
i also did look into your website and tried out few items there. I love it as I do like making lanterns also. Did make 2 from your collection in my office deco this year, thanks alot for the guidance
this is another cute lantern
Wow….beautiful lanterns ! You are back to crafting again !
I made this. Actually you need 20 long angpau packets cut in half & not 10 as written in your instructions. Might be good to mention also that you should turn the picture sides towards the inside when stapling so that it’ll show up properly when turned into the wheel shape. Thanks for sharing.
