Friso Pool Party : The Bigger Picture
Today, I woke Ethan and Darling up early and we managed to leave the house by 8am. For the very first time since I started blogging, I left the house empty handed. I do not intend to blog about this event as it is not a blogger’s event so I left my camera at home on purpose. If that is not shocking enough, I left my iPhone at home too! Shocking? No I’m NOT sick nor turning insane but today I felt like I just wanna be normal. I just want to be a mother and a wife and have a splashing good time at Sunway Lagoon!
We made our way to Sunway Lagoon for Friso’s Pool Party and when we arrived, we were horrified to see crazy unruly crowds at the main entrance of Sunway Lagoon!
Emcee for the day Marcus tried to control the crowd but I guess it was just too difficult. What happened was, Friso advertised this event in Facebook that we can redeem Sunway Lagoon tickets for one child and two accompanying adults to the Friso Pool Party for free. All we needed to do was to purchase 1 Friso Gold 3 or 4 and bring along the barcode/tin foil as proof of purchase to redeem the ticket to Sunway Lagoon Wildlife, Water and Amusement Park. It is already stated that tickets are on a first come first served basis and whilst stocks last. It was also stated that there will be 1000 tickets to be given out. Last but not least, it was also stated that the redemption counter will be open at 8.30am.
On the actual day, crowd started forming as early as 6am. By the time the redemption counter is opened at 8.30am the crowd already went crazy as there was too big a crowd, definitely much bigger than the 1000 tickets can accommodate.
I was lucky to be able to get my tickets with the help of Mummy Ling but hundreds others went home sad.
For those of us who managed to get our tickets and participated in the event, we had a jolly good time but for those from near and far who came all the way to Sunway Lagoon with their sleepy kids in tow and being told that they have run out of tickets, went home with disappointed wailing kids. It was certainly a disappointing day indeed.
Though Friso meant good to hold such events to reward their loyal consumers, perhaps registration and allocation of tickets could have been done in a better way, as many kids were disappointed.
I remembered attending Friso Nuffnang event early 2010. We participated in a blog contest under Nuffnang and won our way to the event. That way we know for sure we are guaranteed entry. To those who did not win the contest, it is better to be disappointed earlier when told we did not win the so and so contest than to have make it all the way there just to be told that they have run out of tickets.
Friso/DL should take today as a lesson for future events. Just my two cents worth :)
Glad you guys had a great family time! And, yeah, always good to not disappoint people. Perhaps the organizer should give tickets out a day before.
Awesome….Have fun ya….
No photos?
Tak bawak camera photo apa….
This is not nice experience. I am pity those who went home in dissapointment. If I were there and got home like that, I sure cursed the organizer like hell.
Oh ya, if I were among the crowd and couldn’t get the tickets, I would be pissed too.
Most welcome…I guess we were just amongst the lucky ones.
Nicely said. It was unfortunate that some went home sad, but we really did our level best to accomodate for the many others who turned up..
im glad you guys got in too.
