Flame – BLUE or RED?
I told Ethan once that fire is red, yellow or even orange in colour. He colours any picture of flames with those shades since then.
Today, while I was cooking he saw the flame on the gas stove and asked me…
Ethan: Mummy, why is the fire blue?
Me: Yes, yes..
(Sometimes I’m like that. When I’m concentrating on something and he asks me a question I’ll just nod and say YES no matter what the question is!) >_<
Ethan: MUMMY! Why is the fire BLUE?!
Me: Huh, what? *looking at the flame on the gas stove* Yeah hor! Why is the fire BLUE?!!
(Only today I realised that the flame on the gas stove is BLUE! *palm face*)
YIKES! Why ah?!
********
A blue flame is normally a result of complete combustion where there is enough oxygen.
A blue flame contains lots of oxygen compared to the yellow flame.. blah blah blah…
Now I recalled Science period in the lab where we used to play with the ‘Penunu Bunsen’.
I used to love adjusting the collar to see how it changes the flame then but as I left school I became more and more bodohs. Today, I don’t even realise the flame on the gas stove is blue until Ethan pointed it out to me..
By the way, I still have not answered Ethan why it is blue and guess what he asked me to do? He said…. “Google for the answer-lah!”
ahhh i miss studying this back in my secondary school :)
Wah! Ethan so clever ask you to google for the answer! Haha!! Eh, you passed or failed your Science last time ah? : D
There!!! Some parents do more harm than good – teach the wrong things. Nasib the son himself is clever. Muahahahahaha!!!!
such clever boy..
Ethan is smart.. he knows Google has the answer for everything! hehehe
aiyoh, you can still recall that from your science class ah, i also can't remember my teacher taught us that, haha!! but i know different gas burns with different color, just dunno which color is which lor.. aiyoh, i like Ethan, asking his mom to google for the answer, at least he hasn't learn the word RTFM yet~~ :D
One thing you are good, you will google for tha answer. If my girls were to ask me, I will say sorry, mummy didn't learn this from school, may be you will learn it next time.
I;ve also noticed the flame at the gas stove are blue but I don;t remember what the teacher taught before. hehe…..
I also dont know! So u finally google for the answer… :)
Mr google make everyone force to used them.. haha…
Very clever boy. Next time you can ask him to go Google it himself.
My boy too, cannot take NO as the answer but instead ask me to consult Mr G.. Hahaha..
My boy too, will not take NO as the answer but instead ask me to consult Mr G.. Hahaha..
Lol, we can't live without Google now~
Yeah.,. Google definitely know the answer.. ha ha ha.. it's the magic of burning that will determine what colour will the fire be.. ^_^.v..
Google knows EVERYTHING! ;)
Blue? Ok…
LOL…Ethan is so smart..ask you to google for the answer. :P
wah..u can even remember PENUNU BUNSEN!! I deleted everything from my memory the moment i step out from school.
Hey, penunu bunsen was my favourite word back then. LOL. Although I was not a mad scientist. Anyway, smart Ethan ah. Next time u just google senyap-senyap then tell him the answer later so he'll think you're so smart lor. Can ah? hehe.
Good advice, google la.. :)
Hehe… I like whn he said, "Google for answer lar!" Smart Ethan
