Camera memory card not responding

I got a BIG scare this morning when my loyal memory card did not respond when I slotted it in my PC’s card reader. A friend once told me that a card reader only has that much of a life span and if I slot it in the card reader every single day I am just cutting its lifespan short. But seriously I can’t help it as I needed those pictures on a daily basis.

When it did not respond to my PC’s card reader, I resorted to use an external card reader and still it did not work. I used the laptop’s card reader and again, it failed to work. I was about to cry dy when I decided to try something else..

I wiped that golden ‘kilat-kilat’ part and try again and BOOYAH it worked like a charm! I breathe a sigh of relieve!

Now that I got that scare, is there anything we can do IF one day our memory card decides to fail on us? Is there any other way for us to retrieve the pictures in it? I’m really scared to think of THAT!

What did you wipe it with?

If cloth don't work, can try using an eraser to rub that part.

    eraser works la.. that's what i do on my MyKad's chip when it's unreadable.. works like a charm :)

      Eraser is the best!! Use it on ATM Kad also.. Even Phone SimCard also can..

eraser la….that's a sure kill move..better than cloth…u can see all banking or government agency that need to process your mykad will use it…works like a charm

Ya I rub my ATM card with ink eraser too.

Ya really scare one day the SDCard "Betray" us. Better transfer the photos to PC once you finish snap the photos.

oh, that's really scary and luckily you finally got it working.. so the best thing you can do is BACKUP!! :)

oh, you didnt copy out the data? luckily can be retrieved.

Invest in an external hard disk drive and backup all oh

phew! luckily u got back all! i accidentally deleted all pictures in memory card and cried, just so lucky that Eric dl-ed the software and can get back all deleted pictures!! :D
